Chapter 124
Her words were suggestive, and she followed up with a deliberately soft explanation. “Sapphire, I’m not blaming you, please don’t take it the wrong way.”
Skylar could see right through her, but chose not to expose her.
She said, “Since I’m partly responsible, how about I take a look at her myself?”
Mona raised an eyebrow. “You?”
Skylar replied, “I know a bit of medicine.”
Mona glanced nervously at Elianna in bed, whose eyelids twitched like she was about to bolt upright.
She quickly refused. “There are lots of professional doctors around. No need to trouble yourself.”
Skylar’s gaze swept over Elianna. She raised her eyebrow slightly. “Ms. Stone could post on X earlier, but now she looks paler than paper, like she’s on the verge of death.”
She added, “The doctors have been treating her for a while with no effect. In fact, she’s only getting worse. If this drags on, and something really happens
to Ms. Stone…”
Mona was flustered. “The doctors just… probably haven’t found the right treatment yet.”
Skylar said, “Ms. Gibson, who knows how long it’ll take to find the right treatment? Let me try.”
“This….” Mona racked her brain and couldn’t come up with a good excuse. She stammered and still didn’t agr
Skylar asked, “What? Are you worried I’ll find out Elianna’s not actually sick, so you’re trying to block me?”
Mona panicked for a moment and quickly denied it loudly, “Of course not, 1 just… just…”
Skylar didn’t bother waiting. She took out a set of silver needles from her pocket. “Don’t worry. I know what I’m doing. I’ll make sure she gets better.”
She swiftly pulled out a needle, grabbed Elianna’s hand, and jabbed it before Mona could stop her.
Elianna screamed and opened her eyes in pain. She reflexively tried to yank her hand back, only to realize she was restrained and couldn’t move.
Skylar deliberately pushed the needle deeper. Tears welled up in Elianna’s eyes from the pain. She couldn’t hold back and cursed, “Skylar, you bitch! Get away from me! If you mess me up, I swear I’ll kill you!”
Skylar smiled and inserted another needle. “Ms. Gibson, see? My skills are decent. Ms. Stone is not only awake now, but her voice is quite strong too.”
Elianna tried to curse again, but suddenly found she couldn’t make a sound.
Her eyes widened in horror. Her mouth opened and closed like she was still yelling, but no sound came out.
Mona sensed something was wrong. “Sapphire, what’s happening to Elianna?”
Skylar calmly inserted another needle and explained, “Don’t worry. It’s normal for a patient to lose their voice or even pass out during treatment. It’s all part of helping her recover properly.”
Mona clenched her fingers. She knew medicine. She definitely knew what kind of state Elianna was actually in.
Skylar claimed that this “treatment” was clearly just payback.
However, Elianna wasn’t even sick. If she kept letting Skylar poke her like this, her health might get worse.

Chapter 124
Mona said, “Sapphire…”
Skylar had already withdrawn the needles and put them back in their case. “Yes?”
Mona swallowed the words she was about to say.
She forced a smile that looked more painful than crying. “It’s nothing.”

Skylar said, “Her illness is very serious. After the acupuncture, she’ll probably be mute and unconscious for a few days. But after that, she’ll recover.”
Mona had no idea what else to say. She just braced herself and replied, “Thank you. I didn’t expect you to be not only a talented writer but also so skilled in medicine.”
Skylar gave a faint smile. “You flatter me. If she still hasn’t recovered in a few days, feel free to call me again.”
Mona frantically waved her hands. “No. That’s not necessary!”
