Chapter 110
Yana was furious. “Victor, why did you cut me off like that?” she demanded.
Victor, sitting on the sofa, replied calmly, “Mom, actions speak louder than words. More talk is useless. Let’s just see how she behaves next”
Carlos still believed Freya was innocent. ‘He’d watched her grow up,‘ he thought. ‘How could she become so malicious overnight?”
He spoke up for Freya, “She’s been with us for so many years. We know what kind of person she is. I don’t think she meant to steal Skylar’s identity”
“Why aren’t either of you sticking up for Skylar?” Yana fumed, feeling her husband and son just didn’t get it.
‘After Freya fooled us for so long, we still believed her! How heartbroken Skylar, the one whose identity was stolen, must be. The thought alone made Yana feel like she couldn’t breathe.
She took Skylar’s hand. “Skylar, don’t worry. Mom will make sure you get justice.”
Skylar knew her family cared deeply for her, but it was also true they couldn’t easily cast Freya aside.
he wasn’t the type to be completely unforgiving and wouldn’t pick a fight with them over it.
Besides, her score to settle with Freya went beyond just this incident.
Skylar gently patted Yana’s hand. “Mom, honestly, I didn’t really lose anything. Freya even helped me by shielding me from a lot of the public drama, letting me focus on my writing.”
Skylar was genuinely grateful for that part. “And she only did it because she was misled. Since she knows she’s wrong now, let’s just let it go.”
Yana stroked her hair. “You’re the one who was wronged, and yet you’re defending her. You’re too kind.”
Skylar smiled. “I’m not upset.”
It was true. Skylar hadn’t lost anything and had even gained free publicity and someone to manage her fanbase.
If it weren’t for needing to oversee the casting personally to prevent any foul play, she wouldn’t have revealed her identity so soon.
Carlos looked a bit sheepish, then got up and went behind Yana to massage her shoulders. “Honey, please don’t be angry. I’m not trying to defend Freya. But this whole thing… wasn’t it mostly her editor’s fault?”
Yana huffed. “Get away from me.”
Carlos, unfazed, continued, “Alright, I’ll stop talking. Let me just rub your shoulders. Calm down, calm down…\”
Victor sighed, feeling deeply frustrated.
He didn’t want to defend Freya either, but she was ill. Victor couldn’t just abandon his sister.
If Freya’s condition worsened and something terrible happened, it would be on their conscience.
There were things he couldn’t voice, and keeping them bottled up was maddening.
Adam, sitting beside Skylar, tugged on her sleeve. “Mommy, who’s bullying you?”
Adam’d been listening for a while and only half–understood, but he could tell from the words and his grandma’s tone that his mom was upset.
Skylar ruffled his hair. “Mommy’s fine. Why don’t you watch TV with Grandma for a bit? Mommy has something to do.”
She then got up and headed upstairs.

Victor knew she was going to see Freya and felt a surge of worry. ‘What if Freya had an episode and did something extreme? Skylar might not be able to handle her alone.‘
After a moment’s thought, he followed her upstairs.
Skylar knocked, and only opened the door when she heard a “Come in.”
“Skylar, I knew you’d come,” Freya said, her eyes cold and menacing.
“What else do you want to say?” Skylar asked.
Since they were alone, Freya dropped her pretense. “Nothing to say.”
Thinking about Yana’s attitude downstairs–a complete reversal from before–made her seethe. She hated Skylar’s guts.
“You ruined my reputation, so you had it coming,” Freya spat. “Why didn’t that car just kill you? If you were dead, I wouldn’t have to live in fear anymore!”
Skylar looked down at her coldly. “You’re truly unrepentant.”
“I did nothing wrong!” Freya insisted.
Skylar’s eyes darkened. “I gave you a chance, and you threw it away. Don’t blame me for what comes next.”
“You can’t touch me, Skylar!” Freya shrieked, grabbing a utility knife from the desk and lunging at her.
Skylar easily caught Freya’s wrist, twisting the knife from her grasp.
Freya then lunged for Skylar’s hand holding the knife. “This time, you’ll see how it feels to be framed and misunderstood by your own family!”
She yelled, trying to impale herself on the blade. Skylar, realizing Freya’s plan, held the knife firmly and tried to pull it away.
Just then, Victor, who had been knocking without getting an answer and was growing increasingly uneasy, opened the door and walked in.
“Stop!” he shouted.
Freya ran to him, sobbing and trembling. “Victor!”
Skylar, perfectly calm, tossed the knife onto the floor. “Victor, I wasn’t trying to hurt her. She threw herself at the knife.”
“Victor,” Freya cried, “I was just trying to explain to Skylar that when I pushed her earlier, it was because I was sick. But she didn’t believe me! She said did it on purpose!
“Then she grabbed that knife and said I had to pay for what I’d done! I was so scared!”
Skylar scoffed. “If I actually wanted to hurt you, you wouldn’t still be breathing.”
Victor had witnessed Skylar’s capabilities before.
‘She was right,‘ he thought. If Skylar had truly intended to harm her, Freya would already be on the ground.‘
“Freya, why are you trying to frame Skylar?” Victor/asked.
Freya hadn’t expected Victor to still side with Skylar after witnessing that scene.
‘I clearly had no standing with Victor anymore. Freya realized she wouldn’t be able to use this to make Skylar look bad today.
She silently gritted her teeth but put on an innocent, tearful expression. “I didn’t, Victor… I… I think I had another episode just now, I don’t know… My head hurts so much.”

Chapter 110
She clutched her head, her face contorted in pain, then her eyes rolled back, and she collapsed.
Victor sighed, a flicker of resignation in his eyes, and carried Freya to the bed.
He then led Skylar out of the room and into the study.
“Skylar, you didn’t tell Mom and Dad about what just happened, did you?” Victor asked.
“I’m not a kid who runs to our parents over every little thing,” Skylar replied. “I like to handle my own
problems.”
“By the way,” Skylar asked, recalling their earlier conversation, “what was that about Freya being sick?”
Victor handed her a medical report. “She has bipolar disorder. When she pushed you, it wasn’t entirely her fault. She was overwhelmed by an episode
Skylar read it. “She never showed any signs of this before.”
“She’s been on medication,” Victor explained. “It’s possible her condition has worsened, and the meds aren’t working as well anymore?
Skylar handed the report back. “Should we tell Mom and Dad about this?”
