Chapter 228 Olivia’s Awa
Chapter 228: Olivia’s Awakening
Chapter 228: Olivia’s Awakening
(Ethan’s POV)
I lifted her carefully, cradling her against me as I moved toward the exit. My Alpha strength was the only thing keeping us both alive.
The flames seemed to part before my determination. Nothing would stop me from saving my mate.
Just as we neared the door, a burning cabinet began to fall toward us. The structure of the cottage was collapsing around us.
With only a few steps to safety, I raised my arm to block it. I had to protect Olivia in my embrace.
The cabinet crashed into my shoulder and back. The pain from the burns intensified, and my Alpha strength
began to fade from inhaling too much smoke.
At that moment, Lucas Blackwood appeared at the doorway. He must have sensed the danger to Olivia
through the territory’s emergency alert system.
In my last conscious act, I pushed Olivia into Lucas’s arms. The cabinet crashed down on me as I collapsed.
“Ethan Stone!” Lucas called out, hesitating only briefly before carrying the unconscious Olivia to safety as I
fell amid the flames.
Fortunately, when the burning cabinet fell, I managed to avoid it hitting my head by using the pushing force
from shoving Olivia into Lucas Blackwood’s arms. But my leg was trapped underneath the heavy wooden
furniture.
I was drenched in cold sweat from the excruciating pain. The sweat was quickly dried by the raging fire
surrounding me.
The burning sensation throughout my body was unbearable. It tested even my Alpha constitution and
accelerated healing abilities.
In the firelight, I saw Lucas carrying the unconscious Olivia to safety. My wolf finally allowed me to breathe a sigh of relief, knowing my mate was protected.
Trapped in the inferno with my body already exhausted from smoke inhalation and burns, I was driven by thoughts of making amends to Olivia and her mother Evelyn. My Alpha strength, though depleted, allowed me to summon my remaining energy to free my leg from beneath the cabinet.
But I lacked the power to move the heavy furniture blocking the doorway. As breathing became increasingly difficult and my enhanced werewolf healing couldn’t keep pace with the damage, my body gave out.
I collapsed to the floor. At the critical moment, Captain Jake Morrison and his Shadow Creek Emergency Response Team arrived.
They extinguished the flames with specialized equipment and rescued me. They rushed me immediately to
the Silvercrest Pack Medical Den.
I awoke in the medical den with a violent start. My entire body burned with pain that even my Alpha healing
couldn’t immediately address.

“Olivial Evelyn!” I exclaimed anxiously through my raw throat. I sat up in the hospital bed despite the agony
Maxwell Chen quickly approached to prevent me from moving. But I Immediately demanded to know about Olivia and her mother’s condition through our weakened mate bond.
I desperately needed to know if they were injured. Maxwell assured me they were safe, having only inhaled
some smoke.
“Alpha King, you suffered multiple severe burns,” Maxwell said carefully. “Especially to your left leg where the silver content in the cabinet’s metal fittings slowed your natural werewolf healing.”
Not satisfied with mere assurances, I demanded to know their exact location in the medical den. My Alpha instincts refused to rest until I could see them with my own eyes and confirm their safety through my senses. My last memory was of an unconscious Evelyn and a barely breathing Olivia in my arms. When Maxwell hesitated to reveal their whereabouts, I fixed him with the full force of my Alpha authority.
My amber eyes glowed with command despite my weakened state. This forced Maxwell to reveal they were in the adjacent wing.
“Alpha King, you need to rest,” Maxwell protested. “Your condition is still critical.”
Despite his protests about my condition, I got out of bed. I endured excruciating pain when my burned left leg touched the ground.
I was momentarily unsteady as my wolf struggled to support me. I was reluctantly supported by Maxwell, my body covered in cold sweat from the few seconds of standing.
“I need to see them,” I growled through gritted teeth. “I need to know they’re truly safe.”
Ignoring further attempts to dissuade me, I painfully made my way out of the room. Maxwell followed worriedly behind.
Each step sent waves of agony through my damaged leg. But my wolf drove me forward with desperate
determination.
(Olivia’s POV)
Meanwhile, I regained consciousness in another medical den room. My wolf slowly stirred beneath my skin as the effects of smoke inhalation faded.
Remembering the fire that had nearly claimed my life, I sat up in panic. “Mom!” I called out through both voice and the faint connection I maintained with my human mother.
I spotted Evelyn lying in the adjacent bed with monitoring equipment attached. Her breathing was steady but her eyes were closed.
Alarmed and concerned, I immediately got out of bed despite my own injuries. I rushed to her mother’s side, my bare feet silent on the cold medical den floor.
Seeing the normal readings on the monitoring equipment, I finally allowed my wolf to relax. My mother was safe and recovering.
The medical den room door opened from outside. I turned my head to see Ethan Stone standing in the doorway.
His powerful frame was wrapped in medical bandages. His amber eyes immediately sought mine.
