Chapter 222: Victoria Kneels Before Olivia!
(Third Person’s POV)
Alpha King Ethan Stone left the Stone family cemetery after paying his respects to Matriarch Evelyn’s grave. The moonstone tombstone glowed faintly in the evening light as he walked away from the sacred grounds.
He intended to find Olivia Winters and tell her that Victoria Frost had been arrested by the Northern Territory
Enforcers. His amber eyes held a mixture of determination and hope as he considered how to approach his
estranged mate.
Just as he exited the sacred grounds, his phone rang with an urgent tone. The caller ID showed Dr. Harrison
Fletcher’s name.
“Alpha Stone, Victoria Frost has just been rushed into the emergency room at Crescent Moon Medical Center,” the pack healer reported with concern in his voice. “Her condition is very critical.”
Ethan’s steps halted immediately. His wolf stirred uneasily within him as he processed the unexpected news.
Victoria had been experiencing severe blood loss and hypovolemic shock while being transported by the enforcers. The wounds Connor Blackthorn had inflicted were more severe than initially assessed.
She was admitted to Dr. Harrison Fletcher’s private medical facility for emergency treatment. The enforcers had no choice but to seek immediate medical intervention to prevent their prisoner from dying in custody.
Ethan’s amber eyes darkened instantly upon hearing about Victoria’s deteriorating condition. His Alpha instincts conflicted between justice and an inexplicable need to preserve life.
“Spare no expense to save her,” he commanded through the pack bond. His voice carried the unmistakable
authority of an Alpha King.
Dr. Fletcher felt surprised by the Alpha’s immediate response. “I understand, Alpha Stone. I’m mobilizing the expert medical team to provide emergency care for Victoria.”
Dr. Fletcher’s call was actually a test of Ethan’s true feelings. He wanted to gauge whether the Alpha still harbored protective instincts toward Victoria despite her crimes.
Understanding Ethan’s stance, Dr. Fletcher was about to contact the specialized medical team. This was the same team that had been assembled specifically for Evelyn Winters‘ surgery.
As he turned to make the arrangements, he suddenly noticed a familiar figure. Olivia Winters stood only two steps behind him, her enhanced werewolf hearing having caught every word of his conversation with Ethan.
Dr. Harrison Fletcher panicked upon seeing Olivia. His scent immediately shifted to one of anxiety as his wolf
recoiled.
“Luna Winters…” he began hesitantly, knowing full well the complicated dynamics at play. His hands trembled
slightly as he held his phone.
As a pack healer, he understood that Ethan had been desperately trying to win back his true mate’s
forgiveness. He also knew that Olivia was the white moonlight Ethan had cherished since he was ten years
old.

Now, having Olivia overhear that Ethan had instructed him to use the expert medical team could lead to a terrible misunderstanding. The same team originally assembled for her mother’s critical surgery was being redirected to save Victoria Frost, the she–wolf Olivia despised most.
Dr. Fletcher wanted to explain on Ethan’s behalf but found himself at a loss for words. He couldn’t fathom the Alpha King’s motivations, why Ethan had become so anxious upon hearing of Victoria’s dire condition and insisted she be saved at all costs.
“Dr. Fletcher, I brought my mother in for her scheduled check–up,” Olivia interrupted the flustered healer. Her emerald eyes were carefully controlled despite the storm raging within her wolf.
It would be a lie to say she wasn’t angry or deeply hurt. How could Ethan, after learning that Victoria had maliciously caused Lily’s death, still care so much about that she–wolf’s survival?
How could he face their daughter’s spirit in the ancestral hunting grounds? The betrayal cut deeper than any
silver blade.
However, this was a matter between her and Ethan as mates. She didn’t want to involve others in their personal conflict.
Moreover, she couldn’t let her mother discover this betrayal. Evelyn was still recovering from her own ordeal and couldn’t afford to become agitated over pack politics.
“Luna Winters, I have a critical emergency to handle,” Dr. Fletcher said, not wanting to delay Victoria’s treatment any longer. “I’ll arrange for another qualified healer to conduct your mother’s check–up.”
The she–wolf’s condition was deteriorating rapidly. Since the Alpha King had chosen to save her, he had to -prioritize Victoria’s care and reschedule Evelyn’s appointment.
After instructing a nurse to make the necessary arrangements, he hurried toward the emergency room. He called the expert medical team through the pack’s communication network as he moved.
Just after Dr. Fletcher ended his call with the medical team, Ethan realized something crucial. Olivia was at the medical center, and today was Evelyn’s scheduled check–up.
Fearing that Olivia had overheard his conversation with Dr. Fletcher, he immediately tried to reach her through their bond. But he realized Olivia had blocked their mental connection, shutting him out completely.
Ethan got into his Midnight Maybach and drove urgently to the medical center. His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as anxiety consumed him.
The expert medical team arrived swiftly and successfully resuscitated Victoria from her critical state. The wounds inflicted by Connor Blackthorn were carefully sutured with precision.
Her back was professionally bandaged with healing herbs infused into the dressings. The medical team worked efficiently to stabilize her condition.
She opened her eyes groggily to find herself in the sterile environment of the medical center. The expert team had already departed, leaving only the healer who had stitched her wounds and a nurse to monitor her condition.
The healer, exhausted from the extensive surgical work, went to an adjacent room. He needed to remove his sterile gown and
to return to his office for much–needed rest.

methodically, unaware of the danger brewing behind her.
Recognizing this as her only chance to escape, Victoria’s survival instincts kicked in. Before being transferred to the Northern Territory’s maximum security facility, she had to act now.
Despite the pain radiating through her body and her weakened state, her desperate desire for freedom gave her unexpected strength. She forced herself to sit up on the medical bed.
The nurse, hearing the movement behind her, turned around while holding a surgical scalpel in her hand. She was ready to assist the patient with any needs.
“Miss Frost, your wounds have just been sutured,” she warned gently. “You cannot move or you’ll tear the
stitches…”
Before the nurse could finish her warning, Victoria lunged forward. She snatched the silver–edged scalpel from her grasp, pressing the dangerous blade against the nurse’s carotid artery with desperate precision. “Don’t make a sound,” Victoria threatened, her blue eyes wild with the desperation of a cornered wolf. “I already have three lives on my hands–I don’t mind adding a fourth.”
The nurse paled instantly, her wolf cowering in terror at Victoria’s unhinged state. The she wolf’s eyes held the look of a rabid animal, someone who truly could slit her throat without hesitation.
“Please, calm down…” the nurse whispered, her lips trembling with fear. She couldn’t die now–she had just accepted her mate’s proposal after years of courtship.
They had overcome so many obstacles to finally be together. She didn’t want to die.
Victoria gestured sharply toward the contaminated exit. She signaled the nurse to help her escape through the medical waste disposal route.
The terrified nurse, afraid to disobey the armed she–wolf, carefully helped Victoria down from the bed. Victoria discovered she could bear some weight on her legs and managed to settle into a wheelchair. The nurse, hands shaking, wheeled her toward the contaminated exit. The Northern Territory Enforcers continued their vigilant watch at the main operating room entrance, unaware that their prisoner was escaping through an alternate route.
Victoria’s only goal was immediate escape from custody. Even if she became a fugitive wolf, she could still find other ways to flee the Northern Territories entirely.
She couldn’t bear to sit passively and await her fate in the enforcers‘ hands. Freedom was worth any risk. Once they reached the disposal area, she struck the nurse unconscious with the scalpel handle. This ensured no immediate pursuit would follow her escape.
Taking control of the wheelchair herself, Victoria lowered her head. She used her long hair as a curtain to obscure her face, hoping to exit the medical center before the enforcers discovered her absence.
As she approached the main entrance, Victoria accelerated the wheelchair. Her heart pounded with each rotation of the wheels as freedom beckoned.
But just steps away from the exit, a familiar figure suddenly blocked her path. Olivia Winters stood there, whose keen Luna instincts had sensed something amiss.
Olivia had noticed Victoria the moment she appeared in the lobby. She recognized her despite the injuries

and observed her nervous, furtive behavior as she desperately tried to reach the exit.
Acting on pure instinct, Olivia stepped forward and blocked Victoria’s escape route. Her emerald eyes blazed with cold determination.
Seeing Olivia standing before her, Victoria’s expression transformed instantly from desperation to pure hatred. At this moment, the last wolf she wanted to encounter was her rival.
For Olivia to witness her tortured by Connor Blackthorn and personally delivered to the enforcers by Ethan- how smug the true Luna must feel. Victoria’s rage overtook her caution as she attempted to ram Olivia with
the wheelchair, using it as a weapon.
Olivia reacted with the enhanced reflexes of a Luna. She stepped aside gracefully and delivered a precise kick to the wheelchair’s side as Victoria charged past.
The wheelchair lost balance and toppled over, sending Victoria crashing to the medical center floor. Just as she struggled to regain her footing, a large boot stepped firmly on her back.
The pressure reopened the freshly sutured wounds and drew a cry of pain from her lips. It was Ethan Stone, who had arrived at the medical center just in time.
Simultaneously, the Northern Territory Enforcers had realized Victoria had escaped through the contaminated exit. They immediately contacted Ethan’s security detail to search the medical facility and reviewed the surveillance footage.
Seeing that Victoria was heading toward the main entrance, they gave immediate chase. Their boots echoed through the corridors as they pursued their escaped prisoner.
While Ethan released the pressure from his boot, the Northern Territory Enforcers quickly subdued Victoria. They forced her to kneel in submission before Olivia Winters in the medical center lobby.
“Let me go!” Victoria refused to show such deference to her rival. She struggled violently against the enforcers‘ grip, her wolf snarling in humiliation.
To prevent Victoria from causing any further disruption or attempting another escape, Dr. Harrison Fletcher personally administered a powerful sedative. The drug was designed specifically for unruly werewolves.
Once Victoria was properly restrained with silver–lined handcuffs, she was placed back on the enforcement transport. She would be taken to the Northern Territory’s maximum security medical facility for continued treatment under heavy guard.
After Victoria was finally taken away under proper custody, Ethan immediately turned to Olivia. His amber eyes filled with urgent concern as he attempted to explain his actions.
“Olivia, please don’t misunderstand my intentions,” he said, his Alpha voice carrying desperate sincerity. “I asked Dr. Fletcher to save Victoria not because I still harbor any feelings for her, but because Connor Blackthorn has already handed over all the evidence of Victoria’s murder–for–hire schemes.”
His voice grew stronger with conviction as he continued. “I’ve already given that evidence to the Northern Territory Enforcers. With concrete proof of her crimes, Victoria will face the full punishment of pack law.”
Ethan’s eyes flashed with the cold justice of an Alpha King. “Saving her life was only because I believed death would be too merciful an escape for her. I’ll have Daniel Reed ensure she receives a life sentence without the possibility of parole.”

His volde dropped to a dangerous growl as he concluded. “Victoria killed our daughter Lily and Grandr Evelyn I intend to make her remaining years a living hell behind allver bars.
