Ethan rushed to the lawyer’s office.
The lawyer handed him the divorce papers.
Ethan looked around with anxiety.“Where’s Clara? I need to talk to her!”
“Ms. Anderson didn’t come. She’s authorized us to handle it. Any problems?”
Ethan tore up the papers. “I won’t divorce her!”
He pleaded, “I made a mistake, but who doesn’t? I won’t see Lily again! Isn’t it enough?”
The lawyer smiled.“Mr. Payne, you know very well that there is more than one way to get a divorce. Ms. Anderson stated she’d sue if you refused to
divorce.”
Ethan was shocked ‘She won’t even talk to me?”
The lawyer gave him a copy.“Ms. Anderson saw this coming. She prepared two copies.”

Ethan tried to tear it, but the lawyer said, “Mr. Payne, no amount of copies you tear up will change the fact that she wants to divorce you.”
Ethan was defeated He begged, Tell me where Clara is.”
I can’t disclose that.”
Ethan offered five million bucks. The lawyer refused.“I really don’t know where she is. She has only contacted me by telephone since she left last time.” Then give me her number! I’ll still give you the money.”

He almost fainted. A police officer helped him.

He thought she was dead and regretted telling the police that she might kill herself.

The officer looked puzzled. Another officer showed him a SIM card found nearby.
Ethan asked, “Just the SIM card? No phone?”
The officer shook his head. “We’ve searched the area and found nothing. The card had been in water.
Ethan asked for a charger. He plugged it in and the phane turned on. He saw countless missed calls from him. Besides the calls, there were a lot of unseen messages from Lily!
