“Adam! Don’t you want me anymore?”

Kellie’s tear–streaked, pale face on the hospital bed, combined with the disapproving looks from his parents, made him pause. He realized some issues required clarification.
After Adam had taken care of everything and rushed back to the villa full of anticipation, he found the house eerily empty.
That inexplicable wave of panic washed over him once more. He hurried through the upstairs, the kitchen, the backyard, and even the garage- everything was as it should be, except for her identification documents.

Adam felt like he’d been hit by a sledgehammer. Blood surged to his head, and a ringing filled his ears. He stumbled over to the sofa,
struggling to keep himself upright.
“Where is she now? Where the hell is my wife? Find her!”
“Mrs. Hacith… she made an appointment for euthanasia in Switzerland a week ago. The appointment is scheduled for tomorrow.”
His heart felt as if it were being crushed by an unseen force, the pain so overwhelming that he couldn’t catch his breath.

He slammed the gas pedal to the max, weaving through countless red lights. Normally calm and collected, he almost collapsed as he exited the car. At the airport, he dropped to his knees in front of the lengthy line, pleading, “Please, let me through! I have to find my wife!”
The cramped economy class seemed stifling around Adam’s tall figure. He incessantly asked the flight attendants for the time. Each passing second felt like agonizing torture, unwilling to grant him any relief.
His heart pounded loudly in his ears, as his secretary’s words and her determined expression from that night replayed in his mind, “That man is Mrs. Hacith’s psychiatrist. She began seeing him before you got married. The photo you saw was a celebration of her progress, not an affair. Her condition worsened after the wedding, and she stayed in contact with the psychiatrist over the years.”
“Adam, did you ever trust me?”
“The private investigator you hired was also paid off by Ms. Kimbere, meaning everything you witnessed was fake.”
“Adam, goodbye forever.”
The phone continued to ring. He desperately hoped to see that familiar number flash on the screen, but it was Kellie’s instead.
“Adam, I’m really scared. Could you come and keep me company?”
“Adam, is that troublemaker acting up again? She’s been envious of Kellie ever since they were kids. Don’t pay her any mind. Women become more troublesome the more they’re indulged. Kellie is being discharged today, and I’m making a celebratory dinner.”
An uncontrollable fury erupted within him, his eyes reddening with
