Chapter 7
Bonnie had no idea how big of a mess she made. She was just basking in what she thought was her success.
“Yeah, and so what? Honey, didn’t you say you loved me and didn’t want that old woman, Caroline, anymore?”
“If it weren’t for her being pregnant with your child, you’d have divorced her ages ago. Now she has lost the baby, and I’m carrying our little one.”
“You even knelt to propose in the hospital! What’s so shameful about getting it in the papers?”
Bonnie’s smugness didn’t last long. In a flash, Andrew slapped her.
“You idiot!” He was furious. “If Caroline were here, she would never make such a dumb mistake!”
Bonnie was lost in her joy, completely oblivious to Andrew’s feelings.
She didn’t realize this news would ruin Andrew’s reputation when people saw it.
Sure enough, Andrew’s assistant handed her the phone with a grim look.
“Mr. Jefferson, you were right. The company’s reputation and stocks have plummeted because of this!”
Bonnie, covering her face, suddenly panicked. “How could this happen?”
She was scared and moved to hug Andrew for comfort.
“Don’t touch me!” Andrew harshly pushed her away.
“Is your only asset your looks? Can’t you think at all? I’ve been married to Caroline for six years, building this company together. Now that I’m successful, I’m supposed to ditch her for a young secretary?”
After a brief pause, he added, “How can I explain this to my business partners and how’ll they view me?”
Bonnie was stunned.
She knew these things mattered.
But in her eyes, those concerns felt intangible, far less important than the glorious title of Mrs. Jefferson.
“I’m sorry, honey. I didn’t mean for this to happen!”
“Don’t call me honey!” Andrew’s face was icy, filled with disgust.
“Caroline was right. You’re just a pretty face who knows how to seduce men. Being outside is one thing, but marrying you would be a disaster.”
Bonnie’s earlier excitement turned to ice.

Chapter 7
They had been secretly dating for three years, and Andrew had never spoken to her so harshly.
Whenever she was in pain, he’d drop his presidential facade and call her to his office, kneeling to rub her feet.
Even when the pipes broke at home, all she had to do was pout, and no matter how busy he was, he’d drop everything to help her.
Though she was his secretary, she enjoyed a privileged status.
She was allowed to call him honey.
He’d always respond gently.
But now that she was finally getting her chance to marry him, Andrew had completely changed.
“Is it true that you always want what you can’t have, and what you do get soon loses its luster?” she wondered.
And yet, she still smiled.
“No matter what, I’ll be Mrs. Jefferson soon. Even if Andrew is angry for a moment, so what? Now that the media has recognized me, everyone knows I’m Andrew’s wife. As for Caroline, she’ll just be a thing of the past,” she
murmured.
Meanwhile, Andrew was frustrated in his office, overwhelmed.
He originally had no news from the people he sent to Sealand.
And now Bonnie had created another mess.
He had just gone to the hospital to cheer Bonnie up with a ring I didn’t want.
But Bonnie, being cunning, had pre–arranged to have paparazzi follow her to capture everything.
Now, no matter how he explained, it wouldn’t matter.
The video showed the two of them acting intimate, and no amount of denial would convince people they weren’t together.
As he looked at my photo on the desk, his eyes suddenly burned with emotion.
“Caroline, your leaving made me realize just how amazing you are.”
“I regret not listening to your advice and cutting things off with Bonnie in time.”
“Now she’s pregnant with my child, and I can’t just abandon her. Will you ever forgive me?”
Days later, Andrew’s company was in chaos.
“What’s going on?” Andrew asked.
Assistants and employees were in a panic.

“Mr. Jefferson, I don’t know why, but our clients suddenly backed out of deals,”
“We can’t close deals and face penalties in the millions.”
“Mr. Jefferson, Pearl Group also
anged their mind and refuses to take our goods!”
Suddenly, Andrew’s company was in a major crisis.
He was so stressed out he felt like he aged overnight.
