Chapter 6
Mrs. Parker sneered. “She’s the daughter of our family’s nanny. Because she grew up in our home and is about the same age as Jude, we allowed her to address us as mom and dad as an exception.”
“But with Jude away, this sparrow decided to play phoenix. She dared to impersonate my daughter and even tried to marry under her name. Truly shameless!”
“What?”
John was visibly shaken, his face draining of all color as he turned to glare at Jesse Parker.
“Tell me the truth–what’s going on here?”
Jesse, realizing the jig was up, looked guilty and could no longer maintain the facade.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to deceive you.”
“You said you loved me, didn’t you? That you didn’t care about my status, that even if I were the daughter of a beggar, you would still marry me!”
“John Kinsley, was all of that a lie?”
John finally realized he had been played. Overwhelmed with anger, he grabbed Jesse by the neck.
“You vile woman!”
“You’re not the Parker family heiress. Why would I ever marry you?”
“With your looks and your figure, you’re not even worth half of what Emily Hope is. Why on earth would I settle for
you?”
The Parker parents had run out of patience.
“We’re not here to watch your drama. One last time–where is our daughter?”
Before John could respond, Jude Parker waved at them.
“Mom, Dad, I’m right here!”
Their eyes snapped toward her, where two bodyguards were holding their precious daughter by her wrists.
The Parkers immediately flew into a rage.
“Is this how you treat our Jude? You must have a death wish!”
“Did you not bother to investigate the Parker family’s status before pulling this stunt? Do you think we’re easy to mess with?”

Chapter 6
As their words echoed through the hall, a group of bodyguards emerged from behind the Parkers. They respectfully addressed Jude Parker and me as “Miss Parker.”
Jude, who had rushed straight to the wedding venue upon returning from abroad, hadn’t even had a chance to see
her parents yet.
Overcome with emotion, she threw herself into Mrs. Parker’s arms.
“Mom, this is all thanks to Emily,” she said gratefully.
“If it weren’t for her warning me in time, my reputation might have been completely ruined,” Jude said, her voice filled with gratitude.
“All I did was go abroad to study, and somehow I ended up married to someone. How does that even make sense?”
Mrs. Parker spent a long time comforting her, then turned to me with a look of appreciation.
“Emily, we really owe you this time. Next time, I’ll bring Jude over to your home to personally thank you.”
“And about our business in Cloud City, we’ll have to rely on your parents‘ support.”
The moment Mrs. Parker finished speaking, the crowd’s eyes widened in shock.
“What? The Parker family is asking this woman for help with their business? I thought she was some pauper from the slums! Who is she really?”
“What’s going on here? This is getting more surreal by the second.”
“I knew it! Look at her dress and the way she carries herself–she’s clearly a wealthy lady. How could anyone think she’s a pauper?”
The murmurs around us made John Kinsley’s eyes widen in disbelief. His face paled as he stared at me.
He had just managed to recover from the shock of Jesse Parker’s deception. Now, half–doubting and half–desperate, he edged closer to me.
“Emily… is it true? Why are the Parker family treating you with such respect? Who are you, really?”
I glanced at him lazily, uninterested in responding.
Jude Parker couldn’t hold back her laughter.
“You’ve always looked down on people, John, constantly calling Emily a pauper. But haven’t you heard of the Hope family in Cloud City?”
John’s face went white as he turned to me in disbelief.
“The Hope family? But they’re the wealthiest family in the region, even wealthier than the local tycoons. How could you possibly…”

“I am.” I said coldly, lifting my gaze.
“And I’m not just any member. I’m the Hope family’s only beloved daughter and the sole legal heir to at of the family’s businesses.”
John staggered back as if struck, collapsing to the floor in despair.
Even his arrogant mother, who had always looked down on me, was now pale and trembling
