Chapter 192
I’m not sure what I expected from Alpha Tec, but it wasn’t the older gentleman standing in front of me, I was sort of expecting someone who resembled Mr. Knightly. That was a mighty expectation on my behalf.
He’s dressed in fitted jeans. A button up and a cashmere sweater. His black and white peppered hair has a side part and he definitely seems older. Older than my grandfather had, if I’m being honest. The stories I’ve read about this man don’t match his discription. Eloise’s presence sent a shiver down my back. This man, if I hit him, he’d probably be done. Midnight is feeling very smug at the moment.
“Where is my daughter?” he growls at me. I grimace, hating the way he’s staring at me.
“In prison. She killed sixteen of my wolves. She’s lucky I believe in the preservation of life, or I would have blown her fucking head off for what she did.” I growl back at him–Midnight steps in for the truly scary part.
His nose flares, and his eyes turn pitch black before the red irises spark to life. Even with all that, the urge to laugh comes with the massively unexpected superiority complex I didn’t know Midnyt had. He flinches when I laugh.
“This is an alpha? Elliot was scarier before he killed his dad.”
It’s Mr. Knightly who bursts into laughter. His wolves don’t like it, but it’s really not their place to throat, but I can tell that she agrees.
“I want to see her,” he says, a little less hostile.

Allison and the wolves who escorted them in growl at them. “As! was saying, you will be supervised until you leave. “Anything else?” he asks tightly.
“Yeah, if you request to see me any time between now and six a.m. I’m going to be pissed. I’m pregnant, and your stupid ass daughter scared my kids. Allison, please escort them to their villa. When you are finished, see me in the study. We need to talk about your behavior today.”
“Yes, Alpha Rizen,” she bows. “This way. I suggest you try your best to stay quiet. She’s mean, like a mom. It’s very inconvenient.”
“You heard that? You’re an inconvenience,” Mr. Knightly pats my head as they leave. “I am never going to forget his face. That bitch is the reason why your parents died.”

I head back upstairs to check on Aizen. He’s awake, but when I open the door, he covers his head with the blanket. I make my way over to him and sit beside him on the bed. I pull the blanket back to see he’s got his eyes closed tightly. He giggles when I poke the dimple on his cheek.
“You weren’t supposed to be up, young man.” I scold him. He sighs and sits up. “What did you tell the guard?”
“To be nosy with me,” he whispers. I laugh, brushing his hair away from his face.
“How are you feeling?” I ask him.
“Are you okay?” he asks.
“Yeah, not a scratch,” I promise. His eyes fill with tears, and he stands up to wrap his

This is the first time he’s ever brought it up. Ayrie has asked me a couple of times why they couldn’t have cousins. She asked me why her grandpa didn’t like us. Now that I have the answers, I’m not sure I want to tell them. It doesn’t matter to me. Since they came along, the other stuff kind of took the back seat.
As of late, it’s been catching my attention. I admit that it’s been on my mind heavily, but it’s only because it has so much to do with the predicament I find myself in. I don’t think I can separate the two of them at the moment.
“I’m okay,” I rub his back. “You have a pretty strong Mommy.”
“The strongest Mommy. Even Dad said so,” he’s quick to straighten up. I wipe his face and

“That can wait,” I assure him. He gets back under the blanket and wipes his face with the back of his sleeve. I tuck him in.
“I feel better now. I promise,” he taps my forehead. “How is she?”
“Who?” I ask. He points at my belly.
“Probably falling asleep too. It’s been a long day,” I give him one last kiss.
“Goodnight, Mommy. I love you,” he turns away, tucking his hands under the pillow.
“Goodnight, Baby. I’ll see you in the morning.”
I make sure his baby monitor is on and head over to check on the girls one last time. They’ve both kicked the blanket off the bed. Ayrie is sprawled out on the bed, and Melody is cuddled into her side. I straighten the two of them out and cover them again. She hasn’t been having nightmares since Melody started staying with us.
I almost jump out of my skin when I find Derek asleep in the rocking chair at the corner of their room. I take one of the blankets and cover him. I crouch down to pull out the chair properly. I do it as gently as I can so that he doesn’t have to be in a sitting position all night.
“I didn’t know it could do that,” he whispers without opening his eyes.
“You have your own villa,” I remind him. “You gave me shit about me giving you a room in here the last time you stayed.”
“I changed my mind. I prefer the room,” he pulls the blankets closer. “Night.”
“The same room. You don’t have to sleep here.” I say, checking the baby monitors on both sides of the room. “Night”
