With the baby coming and Alzen’s training, you’ve got a lot on your plate. We’re also all learning how to cope with our new realities it’s al fun an games until it isn’t. I feel like Tec is going to try to blow this out of proportion. More so, now that everyone knows you’re Nelson’s daughter

“I am. Thank you guys for worrying about me. I am actually enjoying being alpha. I love watching Aizen be himself here. I’m a little worried about Ayre because she’s putting space between the two of them. Her instincts are wired completely differently from his.
“That’s the only thing that’s been getting to me. This alpha stuff and the pack laws are really cool. I mean, there’s so much that needs to be changed, and such grand plans. Alpha Rizen was insanely organized. I wish I had inherited that from him.
“The people here seem to like having me around genuinely. It’s beautiful here, and I like that we’re not bouncing around a lot. Allison and I have been making plans for when I get huge and want to go back to the beach house. This thing with Eloise is the first what the fuck, I’ve hit.”

“I still want to wrap my hands around his fucking throat though,” she scoffs.
“I missed you guys,” Vy smiles. “I have something I want to tell you guys, but it kind of has to stay between the three of us. Yeah?”
“I mean, who are we going to tell? None of us trusts anyone else with real stuff,” I remind her.
“Right, I meant your spouses,” she clarifies.
“So, girl stuff?” Perry asks.
“Yeah, I just-” she stands up and paces a bit. “I was there for all of it. You don’t know how many times I wish I could have killed that monster for what he put all of us through. For all the shit he made me do.
“After Darren died, I promised myself that if I ever found my mate. I’d walk away without even telling him. I would steer clear because I wasn’t sure I’d make it back every time we went on a mission.
“But he’s gone now. I don’t know why it’s got this chokehold on me, but even saying it out loud makes me want to rip my fucking hair out.” She drops back into her seat and covers her mouth. “I feel like as soon as I admit to it, it’s official. There’s no going back, and I don’t know if I have the power to protect us.”
“You have us,” I go around the coffee table to sit beside her. I take her hand. “You’ve been helping me from he start and you didn’t even know who I was. All that mattered to you was that I was Knight’s mate. That’s what matters to us, too. We’re a family. I think that’s how it’s supposed to work.”
