Chapter 165
The calmness in my body is starting to annoy me. I have no idea why and Midnight being nonchalant about this entire situation just as annoying? Are we even ready for this? We haven’t even been together a whole year yet. What if it’s something else? What else can there be? I can’t stop thinking about this or the fact that I am going to black out everytime I go into heat.
“Are you okay?” Knight asks taking the my things out of my hand. “I’ll take this to the car. Make sure you have everything you need.”
“I can get my own things,” I roll my eyes. If looks could kill the one he gives me would have me six feet under. I put my hands up in surrender. “Do your thing.”
I snort as I go into the house to make sure we don’t miss anything. As I wipe down the counters in the kitchen one last time, I feel a little sad that we’re leaving. I go into the twin’s room to get what they asked me for when I told them we wouldn’t be very far. Some toys and a few clothing items.
When I reach for the dress Ayrie asks my head spins. I shut my eyes tightly and blink a few times. Suddenly, Midnight is very aware of our surroundings.
“Nathan, please calm down.” I hear Maria shout.
“Hey,” I call out.
I turn around to find that the room is no longer pink and blue. The dark tinted glass dividing the once huge space is gone. There is one king size bed right in the center of the room. The walls are painted a soft gray shade. The sheets on the bed are a pretty cerulean blue satin and the duvet is black fur.
The head board looks very expensive and it’s made of metal. My heart shatters a little when I see the restraints cuffed to it. I look around to find that there are a couple of guitars, a small piano, and a chair in front of the window where the twins like record their videos. The outside is barred. There’s a writing desk right where Ayrie’s is and it’s littered with paperballs and hand written notes.
Don’t hurt her. Don’t hurt her. Don’t hurt her, is written over and over on each sheet of paper.
I jump when the door swings open. I turn around to see an older version of my son run in here. He slams the door shut and places his hands on the door as he tries to take even breaths while making sure whoever is on the other side doesn’t come in. There’s only one door here.
“Please, please, please!” he roars slamming his hands on the reinforced doors. “Lock it! Lock it, Mom.”
“Nathan, Baby. You’re okay. Just take deep breaths,” I hear Maria call from the other side of the door.
“Mom!” he cries out slamming his fist against the door. The door cracks under the force of his fist. I hear what I think are locks click into place on the
other side.
I watch as Knight falls to his knees clutching his t–shirt tightly as if he could rip whatever is wrong with him out. His claws are out and I smell the blood from his claws digging into the palms of palms of his hands.
I slowly approach him and kneel beside him. He looks exhausted for a boy his age. He’s can’t be older than thirteen. There are scratches on his neck. His eyes are rimmed red from the lack of sleep or maybe crying. His clothes look brand new, but it’s obvious this isn’t the first time he’s pull at them this way. His hair is cut short.
“You shouldn’t be in here.” he whispers. “I can hurt you.”
“You’d never hurt me,” I place my hand on his head. When he looks up at me, his eyes are pitch black. They’re glowing green not the red I’m used to. “You’re going to be okay.”
“Are you an angel?” he whispers. The question catches me off guard. “How do
you
know?”
“Angels know these things,” I smile.
“I don’t want to hurt her,” he chokes out. His arms come around me and Thold him to me tightly. “I don’t want to hurt anybody anymore.”
I gasp when my ears ring and everything fades away.

Chapter 165
“Hey,” I look up to see that I’m kneeling exactly where I was in his room. My kids things are back and Knight is standing at the other and Hanicha to me. “Are you okay?”
“What was that?” I ask looking around. I let him help me up and point at where the bed was. “I saw it.”
“Angel” he shakes his head. “What? What did you see?”
“Your giant bed with the restraints. You were right here. You’re mom was on the other side, she was worried about you. You were crying. Your eyes were glowing green not red.”
“You had a vision? In the middle of the day?” he asks worriedly. “Do you know what triggered it?”
I stare at him for a moment and then pull him closer. He stiffens for a mon
back cupping my face.
“I’m sorry you had to go through that as a kid,” I turn my head enough to ki
“You ran away and became a mermaid,” he grins.
“I did do that.” I laugh.
I then gives in. He takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. He pulls
the palm of his hand. “I would have run away to become a rock star too.”
“My eyes became red after I made my first kill. My sister was alpha and I stole that from her. It made my alpha command stronger before it was my time to become the alpha I was supposed to. They’re blue before we ascend. It’s how you know a wolf is born to be an alpha, but mine were green because of my dad.”
“That’s why Aizen’s are blue. Why are Ayrie’s silver?”
“Because of you. Your eyes also turn silver when you shift. They get lighter in your skin when it’s Midnight.” he stands and helps me up. “Come on. The twins are waiting.”
“This has never happened to me before. Not while I’m awake.”
“We’ll talk to the old man about it. See if there’s anything in the books we’re finding in your new library.”
“Okay,” I agree.
I point at the two bags on the bed. He takes them and as we’re leaving, I look back to the spot where he had been. That was weird vision. I’ve never seen him here or that young before. He looked so tired and lonely. I can’t stop glancing over at him on the drive to the ranch.
“You’re making my nervous. Are you okay, really okay?” he asks.
“You didn’t shave,” I reach out to touch his face.
“Do you want me to?”
“Not yet,” I smile and shift in my seat to look out the window. “How do you think the twins would react to having more siblings?”
“I have no idea,” he laughs. “I think Ayrie would love it, Aizen-” he shrugs. “He’s a little more possessive of us.”
