Chapter 1
On my wedding day, my fiancé Blake was absent because the fake heiress had an anxiety attack.
Desperately, I called my childhood friend Ethan and told him, “If you come, I’ll marry you instead.”
He laughed coldly. “You really think highly of yourself, don’t you?”
But half an hour later, both men showed up at the venue,
Blake’s angry slap sent me already unsteady in high heels–crashing into the ten tier wedding cake.
Sticky frosting and jam smeared across my designer wedding dress. Instinctively, I looked toward Ethan.
His eyes reflected deep contempt and disgust as he examined me, his tone ice–cold:
“Olivia Foster, you’ve gone too far. Violet’s anxiety attack is a life–or–death situation. And you? You had to make a scene right now? Do you have any humanity left?”
A sharp pain spread across my face. A drop of blood fell onto my snow–white dress.
I touched my nose, feeling warm wetness.
“Have you two lost your mind?”
Before I could finish, Blake let out a cold laugh and snarled:
“If Violet hadn’t been so kind–hearted–threatening to harm herself unless I came to finish this wedding ceremony with you–do you think I would have shown up?”
He angrily pulled a champagne glass from the bottom tier of the tower, letting the remaining glasses collapse and shatter.
With his other hand grabbing the bottle, he held it over my head, filled the glass to overflowing, then poured the rest over me.
By the time the bottle was empty, I was soaked.
Then he smashed the bottle on the floor, crouched down to my level.
“Wanted to get married, didn’t you? Here, let’s have our ceremonial drink.”
He poured the full glass of champagne directly in:
my face.
It exploded across my skin, then dripped, drop by drop, down my face.
I couldn’t tell anymore if what was staining my wedding dress was champagne or blood.
He stood up, looking down at me from his height.
“Satisfied now, my lawful wife?”
Meanwhile, Ethan stood with his hands in his pockets, watching the spectacle with cold detachment.
The crowd stirred as my biological parents approached.
I thought they were coming to defend me, but I never expect Mom didn’t even look my way.
Her face tight with worry, she asked frantically:
“Where’s my Violet? You know she’s emotionally unstable–how could you leave her alone to come here? Tell me where she is! If anything happens to her, I won’t be able to live with myself!”

Chapter 1
My biological father took the microphone and addressed the crowd.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m sorry to say that we’ve encountered a small issue. The wedding is temporarily canceled. All gifts will be returned in full. I extend my sincerest apologies to everyone who honored us with their presence today.“,
Setting down the microphone, he turned to Blake with a serious expression.
“Lead the way. We need to find Violet.”
He didn’t spare me a glance. Despite his forced composure, his voice trembled with unmistakable anxiety.
Just then, a tearful cry came from outside the main doors.
“Dad, Mom…”
