Okay, so I guess I didn’t lock that door before diving face first into the little treat Nico had slipped me when we were
outside.
“Is this something you just do on a regular night at home? What the fuck, Isin? Kalden berates me.
“What I do by myself is none of your business, thank you very much.” I cross my arms and glare back at him.
“Clearly.” Hunter chimes in, sitting next to me on the bed, but he doesn’t look angry…maybe concerned?
Mason is the next to throw his two cents in. “How do you know, Nico?”
Okay, that throws me a bit. Did he catch on himself or did Nico say something? Squinting my eyes at him, I try to give my best impression of I dont give a fuck, hoping that’s the face I’m giving and not the shit scared one that I’m actually feeling.
“I think that would also fall under the ‘not your business‘ category.”
“Fucking hell, Isla, we’re not the enemy here.” Hunter places his arm around my shoulder and pulls me in for a sideways hug. “Look, we don’t have much time before our Dads come up here looking for you. They want to talk to you. Specifically, about why Nico Capaldi is requesting your hand in marriage as part of the agreement between our families.”
“And probably why he would claim he knows you and this would be something you would want.” Kaiden finishes.
“What?” I think my jaw is on the floor.
“Do you two have a thing?” Mason asks, looking a little queasy.
“He hasn’t shoved his cock in my mouth like someone else I know, if THATS what you’re asking.” Both my brother’s heads snap to him and the braincells that actually work must tell him it’s a good time to shut his mouth. I’m still not over that. Especially with how he’s been avoiding me again lately.
Kaiden checks.

The walk to my fathers office is nothing less than terrifying. How much did Nico spill? How mad is Dad going to be? Fuck fuck fuckity fuck. Kaiden pushes open the door for me and stands to the side, a look of empathy on his face before he ushers me inside and closes it behind me. I glace a look up from the floor at my father.
“Oh, Princess, are you okay? Come here!” He stands and opens his arms for me and I slowly make to snuggle and fake a sniffle into his chest.
“I’m guessing the boys already told you?”

“Kind of.” I mumble out. “What’s going on, Daddy?” He sit’s and pulls me onto his lap. My other two Dad’s reaching their hands out to rub my back and hold my hands.
“Hey, hey, Princess, look you’re not in trouble, okay? We just need to figure some stuff out.” Kaiden’s Dad says sweetly.
“Mr Capaldi said he knows you, on a more personal level. Is that true?” Hunter’s Dad tried to hide his grimace but fails terribly. I look up to my Dad to gage his reaction before I stare down at the floor and whisper, “Yeah…” I feel my Dad stiffen at the confession before he tries to relax himself. “How do you know each other, Princess?” Kaiden’s Dad jumps in, “remember you’re not in trouble.”
“…we…uh…1 sneak out to the clubs sometimes and I met him there.” It’s not a complete lle…we did meet at a club, just not a regular one.
“and, are you two…have you…fucking hell.” It’s my Dads turn to stutter over his words in this completely uncomfortable conversation.
“Are you together?” Hunter’s Dad gets to the point.
“No.” I shake my head.
“Do

like him?” Kaiden’s Dad asks.

“Then we will say no and keep looking for other options for family alliances. My Dad says.
“You’ve been trying for years, Dad… I sigh. And almost all of them come back with wanting the hand of your daughter. I sigh. “I’m not ready for marriage…but maybe you could offer a courtship period instead. With the expectation that I will still be allowed to attend school and finish my studies, and that I will have the option to choose whether to accept or reject a marriage proposal at the end.”

“You will all have to let her go to make her own choices in life at some point. My mother’s voice sounds from the door. I didn’t even realise she had slipped in at some point. She walks over and moves my head to snuggle into her chest. “I told you all before. You can’t keep her your innocent little Princess forever. It’s time to give her the reins.”
