*I…uh…” The rest of the men choose to enter that exact moment to enter the hallway, thank fuck. I follow Kauden and Hunter into the office space and take my assigned seat at the large table. Dan and Nico sit at opposite ends of the table. Both in the seats of powers, and the politeness of dinner has worn well off now.
“Okay then, now the pleasantries are out of the way, I’d like to discuss an alliance between our families. Don begins. The two talk between each other about all things, money, power, territory and trades. Nico has an extremely solid form of importation that he is willing to share and both parties discuss trivial matters about family support in the case of attacks or interception. They talk and come to agreement on many things over the next few hours.
“As satisfied as I am, Mr Capaldi, I can not help but to notice that your end of the deal is sufficiently less than that of which we would gain. Would I be correct in assuming there is something more you would like that you have not yet put on the table?” Don asks, downing the last of his whisky in one swallow and slowly placing his glass back onto the table to stare Nico down.

e fuckers grin widens before he replies. “You would be correct, Mr Donatello.”
Don opens his arms wide, “then lay it on the table. I am sure we can come to a suitable agreement. What is it that you want from me in return for all of this that you are willing to give?”
I catch Kaiden’s eyes for the first time during the meeting, before he flicks them to Hunter beside me. Doing their weird silent communication thing they always do. Nico swirls the liquor in his glass and places it back on the table, resting his hands around it and leaning forward slightly. Looking Don straight in the eyes, he says simply. “I want your daughter.”
Multiple sets of hands are slammed on the table with thunderous outbursts from our family’s side. Hunter and Kaiden are already out of their chairs but their father’s grip on both of them has them halted in their tracks. Meanwhile, Nico casually leans back to relax in his chair, his smirk still in place and his eyes not wavering from Don’s, who’s trying obviously very hard to keep his own composure.
“My daughter is not something that can be bargained for, Mr Capaldi. She is innocent in all family matters and has not desire in being bought.” Don grits out, his hand on his glass going white with the strain.

“It may come as a surprise to you, boy, that your sister and I actually do know each other, and you might very well find that we both enjoy each other’s company very much.” Nico says in a way that has my stomach flipping. Isla knows him? How the fuck does she know him? What the fuck does he mean by that? The look Kaiden got from Don, Luca and Tony tells me that I should keep my mouth firmly shut. Before anyone can say a word, he continues, straightening out his designer suit as he turns in attention back to Don.
“Everything we have discussed will be written into a formal contract. Including the hand of your daughter. We will meet in a weeks time and if everything is agreed upon then we will together be the most powerful, influential, and untouchable families in the country,” He turns to leave but throws back over his shoulder. “I suggest you talk to the ever so innocent Princess, before you make a decision, Mr Donatello. Thank you for dinner.”
As soon as he and his men leave the room, Don’s glass finds its way into the door that just shut, shattering with the effective intention.
“How. The. Fuck. Does. He. Know, Your. Sister. Don spits out, eyeing his sons with a look that could kill. They both look to each other and then to me. I shoot my hands into the air like I’m under arrest. I don’t know!”

“We don’t know, father, but we will find
“How the fuck couldn’t you know?! Is she not with you, with one of you all the time like I have ordered?!”
“She is!” Kaiden shoots back.
Most of the time…” Hunter mumbles.
“The only time she is away from us is at home, sometimes at school, and when she goes to Mia’s… I add in and regret it immediately when all heads turn my way.
“Send my daughter in and you three can get the fuck out.” He spits at us, and we scramble to get out of there before he changes his mind.
Once we’re on the floor to our rooms, Hunter rips open his door first and gestures for us to enter.
“It had to have been at Mia’s place right?”
“But she’s not involved in anything to
do
with the crime life. How could she have met him there?” Kaiden asks.
“Does she slip out of school ever?” Hunter asks me.
“No. She might ignore me and avoid me, but she doesn’t skip out.”

“We need to go get her before our father’s flip the house upside down to get her themselves.” Kaiden opens the door, and we file back out and across the hall to Isla’s room. The rush from the meeting obviously putting us on a mission because neither of us think to knock when Hunter pushed open the door and we all stop dead at the sight before us.
“Fuck.” I whisper out, pushing them into the room and locking the door behind me.
“What the fuck, Isla?!” Hunter yells, while Kaiden slaps the plate of drugs she’s snorting onto the floor.
“Ever heard of knocking, assholes?!”
