I sit in front of the wall of information and photos I have in the war room. Every clue, every map, and every image plastered behind me on the wall. Damon hangs a picture of Alpha Stevens up and his sons. Stevens is written in Beld letters above the image with arrows drawn down to phone records that link his phone to some phone within my park borders.
I don’t know who or where within the borders, but the Alphas about to join the video call do not know that. No, I want to send a clear message, hanging Mikhail’s image right next to the image of Alpha Stevent. I have labeled Stevens just as guilty as Mikhail himself. If one of the alliance Alphas joining the call is a mole, then they can report back to him what le on the wall behind me.
When push comes to shove, it does not matter to me anyway.
I am getting real close to finding a way to get over the fear of losing my family and rolling into Pack Stevens, ripping the throats out of all in command.
The fear of losing my family keeps me from functioning at my full potential. It is constantly in the back of my head, screaming at me, reminding me of what I have to lose. It grips me at night, when Little Wolf thinks I am sleeping. It whispers in my ears every time I think of the trafficking ring.
‘They will all die.”
“Everybody you loves dies.‘
‘You will lose you pup and Ayla will hate you forever.‘
“They will take Ayla and you will never see her again.‘

Also, I think Cyrus would seriously consider hurting me if I took Stevens and his sons from him. They are his and Ravens.
Pack Stevens does not know it yet.

“Are we all ready?” Cyrus asks as he puts his murder face on, sitting beside me on the right and Damon on the left.
‘We are.
Start the video call.” I say as Damon positions the laptop in front of us on the table. The photos of Stevens and Mikhail are plainly in view. Just as I wanted.
“We should have drawn more arrows to them for dramatic effect,” Cyrus states.
“I think writing ‘shit bags‘ over their photos in bright red sharpie conveys our feelings, Damon informs Cyrus, who scoffs
in return.
I need to figure out a way for them to get along better if I ever decide to take my rightful seat. Legally, Damon would

become Cyrus bela, and I’m not sure they could work together that closely without killing each other.
One by one, the squares fill with Alpha Sonne, Alpha Greene, and Alpha Clarke, whom I have invited, I trust him, and if Mikhail is hiding up in northern territory, Clarke would be the closest to him and has been working on my behalf, forming more alliances in his area.
Soon, we can push harder to find Mikhail. We will have the numbers scouring the territory.
He will not be able to hide.
“Good afternoon, Alphas. As you know, I have called this meeting to update you on the progress we have made on the trafficking ting.” I start the conversation as a member of Tyler’s team, doing whatever shit they do to monitor body language and phone signals and a shit ton of investigative things I do not care to understand.
They have my permission to break whatever laws are necessary and do whatever they want to get this trafficking taken down. I no longer care who it pisses off, who feels violated, or how they find the evidence I need.
‘As you are all aware, I reached out to you individually to discuss the trafficking ring and some new suspicions and revelations that have come to light. As you can see behind me, I have tied an alliance member, Alpha Stevens, and possibly his sons, to the trafficking ring responsible for the abduction and murder of hundreds of shifters. I am considering all contracts I have with him null and void because of this. I have confirmed Stevens is not only using the trafficking ring for his sick pleasures, but I have confirmed that he is actively participating in the abduction and selling of shifters from his pack into the trafficking ring.” I decided to leave out that he is selling his kind for experimentation purposes, because I do not want to draw attention to Raven.
I watch as the eyebrows shoot up on the Alphas in the video call. One of them is in bed with Stevens, and we need to flush them out during this call.
“Are we allowed to see the evidence that you have against Stevens? Not that I do not believe you, but this is a big claim. I would feel better about turning on him if I had seen the proof with my own eyes.” Alpha Greene speaks, and the others nod their heads in agreement.
“I have a victim who confirms that he or she was sold personally by Alpha Stevens into the trafficking ring. I have further proof beyond that, but this victim will remain anonymous until the time is right and they are under my protection. Any attempts to find or take back this witness by any Alpha here, Alpha Stevens, or any of his pack members will result in death.” Cyrus growls next to me.
“You have a witness we cannot talk to? You ask us to betray an alliance that has benefited our pack with resources and trade, but cannot give us any proof to stave off any uprising that may occur in our packs? Come on, Thane. You know how pack politics work.” Alpha Sonne speaks up, pissing me off.
“Unfortunately, I do not know whom we can and cannot trust. I have Alpha Stevens‘ phone number tied to a burner phone within my pack, which we are trying to locate. Between piecing those two numbers together, I was poisoned and almost died. I had a bomb put in my car, and a stage was blown up at a ceremony that killed four of my own. I do not believe in
coincidences.”
“You just said yourself, you cannot connect Stevens to the supposed traitor you have in your pack. That can use.” Alpha Greene interrupts.
“I received a phone call from Alpha Stevens informing me that he would be unable to attend today’s conference.
“Pause for dramatic effect.”

“Shut up, dumbass.”
And?” Alpha Greene asks as I kick Cyrus out of the mind–link.
“And, I did not tell him about the meeting. Which means, one of you did. Therefore, I cannot trust you with the evidence I have. However, I can promise you that I will find out and personally bring the traitor to my dungeon. I will bring you before I bring Stevens and his lot, and you want to know why? Because I need Stevens to continue to live his life so I can find the traitor in my pack, but I will not need whoever is on this video call today that dared to betray me.”
I sit in silence and let them take in my words as I argue with myself about storming into Pack Stevens and killing him, Truth be told, he is probably our best bet to find Mikhail, but I do not want the Alphas before me to know today just how little we know about Mikhail,
“Thane, as you know, I trust you 100% and will assist you with anything you need. I fully support you in finding the member who is a mole and handling it as you see fit. I am working on alliances on my end and will willingly share whatever information you provide.” Alpha Clarke reassures me of where his allegiance stands. I have no doubt he means his words, and I make a mental note not to forget them either.
I look up as I see Tyler’s arms waving in the air, pointing to his cell phone. He grabs a piece of paper and scribbles out ‘Sonne’s phone just linked to Stevens.”
Cyrus laughs maniacally next to me as my face contorts into a huge smile. Both of our bloodlusts calling to each other.
Both of us know that we will be visiting Sonne very soon.
“This meeting is adjourned.”
