I stared at him with wide, hopeful eyes,
feeling his hesitation.
I pushed him away.
“Fine, if you don’t want to, then I won’t go to
your party either. It’s not like you really like
me that much anyway.”
I turned to leave.
I didn’t get far before a pair of strong arms
wrapped around my waist from behind.
His head buried into my neck, his grip
tightening.
After a long silence, a barely audible “Okay”
vibrated from his throat.
I smiled, satisfied.
My family is full of entrepreneurs. We don’t
do losing deals.
As for his graduation party, I’d be on a plane
to another continent by then.
I guess I’ll miss the little trap they set for me.
I wonder what their faces will look like when
they find out I’m gone.
