fun.”
Everyone just looked at each other.
Bailey couldn’t help but ask, “Summer, did

I raised an eyebrow, playing dumb. “Nope. I

just got here. Why, were you talking trash
about me?”
“No, no, of course not!”
Believing me, the party atmosphere slowly
returned.
Soon, Chase and the others arrived.
The latecomers hadn’t heard Bailey’s speech.
When they found out Chase and I were
together, they all looked at me with envy.
“Summer, you’re so lucky you get to date

“Hey, Summer is a total catch, too. Chase is

Bailey was fuming. Finally, she couldn’t take it

I just smiled, not denying it.

Without a word, I grabbed his tie, pulled him

I pulled back quickly. “Bailey told me you
won’t let me kiss you?”
Chase’s face changed. He looked over at
Bailey.

The glass in Bailey’s hand fell to the floor.
Her face was a mask of disbelief, her lips
bitten white to keep from crying in front of
everyone.
Chase forced a laugh. “Of course not. Don’t
listen to her nonsense.”
“Good. For a second there, I thought I wasn’t
allowed to kiss my own boyfriend.”
With that, I kissed him again. Twice.
Chase just stood there, his eyes darting
towards Bailey.
The other students were already whispering
and laughing at her.
