“No, really, I’m fine,” Amelia mumbled, looking down at her feet. She felt a pang of guilt. Brooke was so kind to her, and here she was, keeping this huge secret from her.
“I’m taking you home,” Brooke said firmly
“Thank you.” Amelia nodded, not refusing the offer this time.
It was rush hour, and the bustling city streets were packed with cars and hurried pedestrians. Amelia leaned against the car windows, watching the scene outside as she gradually calmed down.

“Soon enough. His days of running free are numbered, Landon said softly. By then, he had finished sending his message. His left hand was becoming more dexterous with each passing day, and his mind was as sharp as ever. Unfortunately, the rest of his body remained paralyzed.
