Chapter 227
The next day, Amelia announced she was heading back to Norava.
Both Monica and Aiden were thrilled, but Landon, sitting at the far end of the long dining table, looked anything but happy.
‘She’s leaving already?‘ he thought.
‘I haven’t even had a chance to get to know her better, to ask if she knows anything about my past… he woridered.
‘Why is she leaving so soon?‘ he couldn’t help but think..
‘Could it be that her husband is back?‘ he wondered.
At that thought, Landon felt a pang in his heart.
What he didn’t realize was that Amelia could hear every single word of his inner thoughts.
‘My husband? But he is my husband,‘ she thought.
Amelia smiled softly. “Mr. Kingsley, if fate allows, we’ll meet again.”
“Yup,” Kayla replied coolly.
He snapped out of his thoughts and gave a small nod.
‘Yes, if fate allows, we’ll meet again,‘ Landon thought to himself.
He couldn’t just sit around any longer. He had to get out of this place, dig up his past, and finally figure out where he truly belonged.
After breakfast, Amelia and Aiden left.
Monica let out a heavy sigh of relief. With only Paloma left and no longer a threat, she could finally relax and slip back into her usual routine of lounging around and enjoying herself.
In the afternoon, the doctor came to examine Landon.
“His condition is concerning. We’ll have to resort to psychological therapy,” the doctor said.
Since nothing showed up physically, it had to be a psychological issue.
“Psychological therapy? How does that actually work?” Monica asked.
The doctor looked troubled. “He’s under a lot of stress. We need to help him relax, talk to him, reason with him, try to get through to him emotionally…”
“That’s all bullshit!” Monica snapped.
She’d tried countless ways to truly become Landon’s woman.

Landon lay on the bed, completely unbothered and in no hurry.
“Don’t worry, darling. We’ll take our time with your treatment,” Monica said as she brought over his pills and a glass of vrarm water. “Common fi medicine for today.”
Landon frowned. “How much longer do I have to take these?”
“Until your headaches are gone,” Monica replied with a coy little smile. “You had so many yesterday. You really suffered,”
Landon took the pills, swallowed them right in front of Monica, then lay back down and closed his eyes to sleep.
Monica said, “Darling, you just rest at home. I’m taking my cousin out shopping.”
“Mm,” Landon grunted, not bothering to open his eyes.
Monica headed out the door.
Landon sat up, gazing out the window at the blue sky and drifting clouds. A look of melancholy crossed his handsome face.
‘When will I finally get the chance to see the world beyond these walls?‘ he wondered.
Beneath the same blue sky, they each nursed their own quiet sorrow.
Amelia gazed out the airplane window at the unfamiliar land below, unable to hide the loneliness in her heart.
They had only just reunited, and now they had to part ways again…
‘Landon, when will we finally be together?‘ she wondered.
“He’s already forgotten you, so stop coming back just to hurt yourself,” Aiden said, clearly in a good mood as he crossed his legs, a teasing sparkle in his eyes.
Amelia didn’t say a word.
‘Is this really suffering? Not at all–I’m actually glad I made this trip,‘ she thought to herself.
Getting to see him while he had amnesia, and even hearing what was really in his heart–this was an experience she’d always treasure.
Now she could head back to Norava without a care, not the least bit worried about any sparks flying between him and Monica.
When the plane touched down in Norava, Gloria came to the airport herself to pick her up. “Amelia, how was your business trip?”
“It went pretty well,” Amelia replied with a tired smile.
Amelia managed a weary smile.
“Oh, you look so pale. You didn’t do anything to hurt the baby, did you?” Gloria asked, her voice full of concern.
Aiden started to look worried too.
“No, I’m just worn out from the long trip. Let’s go home,” Amelia said with a tired smile, climbing into the Kingsley family car as they drove off, leaving the airport behind.
Left behind at the airport, Aiden couldn’t help feeling a bit bitter about it.
Amelia had seen Landon’s current state with her own eyes. ‘What else is there for me to be hung up on?‘ she thought to herself.
“Mr. Kyle, shall we head back too?” the butler suggested.

Aiden asked gloomily, “How much longer do you think I’ll have to wait before she’ll finally fare my Que lealingar”
“Mr. Kyle, these things take time. We still need the antidote, and you two basically have a ten year part now,” the butter replied.
“Exactly! We’ll be seeing each other a lot over these next ten years,” Aiden said.
At that thought, Aiden lips curled into a slow smile. “They say time heals all wounds. Once she finally gives up on waiting for tanton, the ‘l realize just how good i am for her.”
“Yeah, yeah, of course,” the butler replied quickly.
The butler secretly wiped the sweat from his brow.
‘Man, this guy’s got it bad. No one does lovesick like he does,‘ the butler thought to himself.
Not that it really mattered though.
Aiden wasn’t actually going to wait ten years for Amelia. As the butler, all he needed to do was handle whatever came up right now.
“What about Tuff? Has he made any moves?” Aiden asked.
“We’re keeping tabs on him. Honestly, it looks like he came to Norava just to chase after Amelia. Now that she’s left the country, he’s got nothing better to do,” the butler replied.
“Hmph, a toad dreaming of swan meat,” Aiden sneered.
The butler looked a little worried. “Mr. Kyle, Amelia’s just so lonely…”
“What can we do? She made a promise to my parents that she’d wait for my brother her whole life,” Aiden let out a sigh.
Truth was, his heart ached for his sister too.
But when it came to his parents‘ wishes, he really had no choice but to go along with them.
Let her do as she pleases in Norava for now, even if that means spending some time with Tuff.
What he didn’t realize was that Tuff wasn’t here just for fun. He’d already dodged the Kyle family’s surveillance and headed straight for the Kingsleys.
“Amelia, how did it go?” Tuff asked nervously.
Amelia’s lips curled into a gentle smile. “I saw him.”
“Is he alright?” Tuff pressed.
“He’s doing pretty well,” Amelia replied.
“So… did anything happen between you two?” Tuff pressed, unable to hide his curiosity.
“He didn’t even recognize me,” Amelia replied.
But as Amelia said this, there wasn’t the slightest hint of sadness in her expression.

Amelia gave him a sly look. “Tuff, are you and Paloma for real, or is this all just a game?”
“Of… Of course it’s just a game,” Tuff stammered, looking a little flustered. “I’m not good enough for her.”
Amelia just smiled and didn’t say anything.
If she wasn’t mistaken, Tuff was falling for her, big time.
“Wait, she’s not about to stir up some trouble, is she?” Tuff suddenly blurted out.

“So what do we do now?” Amelia asked, starting to feel a little worried herself.
Paloma had managed to uncover her true identity even after losing her memory and being kept under the Kyle family’s thumb for years. That meant she’d been searching for her past all along.
She’d helped Amelia with the mandrake poison, and even planted a bug in her watch to eavesdrop on Gloria’s daily life…
Now that she was staying at the Montgomery’s place, she might really have other motives.
Amelia’s heart skipped a beat as she pieced it all together, a chill running down her spine.
“Tuff, you have to do something! If the Kyle family finds out she already knows about her real identity, they’ll never let her or Landon go…” Amelia said anxiously.
“I’ll try reaching out to her,” Tuff said, looking just as worried.
Amelia gritted her teeth. “Can’t we just have the Flying Tiger Sect step in and get them out first?”
“Are you sure Landon can even leave Monica’s place right now?” Tuff shot back.
Amelia hesitated.

During that day and night together, she’d noticed/Landon rubbing his temples all the time
