“This is the beauty of traditional medicine,” Jonas said, smiling warmly at Amelia, his eyes sparkling with warmth.
Goosebumps broke out all over Aiden..
But to Amelia, there was no sound in the world more beautiful than this.
‘It’s Jonas! It really is Jonas!‘ Amelia realized.
In this unfamiliar estate, she finally had someone she could truly confide in and discuss important matters with.
But Amelia wondered who had sent him here.
“Ms. Edwards, let me help you up,” Jonas said in a disguised voice.
Amelia suppressed her overwhelming joy and took his hand to stand up. “Thank you, Dr. Meyers.”
Aiden watched their hands clasped together and thought, ‘Dr. Shaw was right. It’s easier for a woman to take care of another woman.”
Checking the time, he realized he needed to head out, so he instructed the butler to arrange for the doctor to stay in The Pink Cottage, so she could stay and dine with Amelia, making it easier to look after her.
After he left, Amelia leaned in and whispered to Jonas, “What brings you here?”
“Mr. Zuckerberg asked me to come,” Jonas said, giving her a once–over and sighing. “You’ve gotten so thin, your chin is all sharp now. Is it because of Landon? Are you still sad over him?”
“You know too? Is he… alright now?” Amelia’s heart twisted with worry, not sure how to even ask.
Every bit of news she’d heard about Landon was bad.
She didn’t know whether Aiden deliberately mislead her, or if Landon was truly never coming back.
“I think he’ll be fine,” Jonas said softly.
With no one else around, he dropped the act and spoke in his real voice. But his face was still caked in makeup, making him look almost too alluring for his own good.
Some people were just born with that kind of charm. No wonder he could pull off the whole ‘pretty boy in drag‘ thing so effortlessly.
Amelia laughed. “Jonas, you’re seriously gorgeous!”
Jonas fell silent.
“Thank you for coming to help me,” Amelia said, her laughter melting into tears.
She was tough enough to deal with Aiden, but honestly, finding a familiar face in a strange place was one of the greatest comforts in the world.
“They’ll come to take you home,” Jonas sighed.
“What’s going on with Patrick?” Amelia asked.
Jonas replied, “He’s in a wheelchair now, but he’s become even more ruthless.”
After a pause, Jonas added, “He thinks he’s ready to take over Kingsley Group, but he doesn’t care whether Kenneth lives or dies!”
Amelia was utterly speechless.

Chapter 201
She almost forgot–Jonas was Kenneth’s ‘girlfriend.‘
‘Did he come here to get revenge on Patrick for Kenneth?‘ Amelia wondered.
“I’ve already let go of Kenneth. I just think it’s really cruel how Patrick treats his own brother,” Jonas quickly explained,
Amelia was stunned. “You?”
“… I have someone I like now…” Jonas said shyly, tugging at the hem of his shirt and looking down.
His rouged cheeks flushed a deep red.
Amelia’s mouth dropped open in shock.
‘Wait, Jonas is straight now?‘ she thought.
it
“Oh, come on, I was just young and clueless back then. “Bit
up anymore,” Jonas said, stamping his foot in embarrassment.
Even though he claimed he was straight now, he still couldn’t shake off that flamboyant flair.
Amelia quickly shut her mouth, barely holding back a laugh.
She couldn’t help but wonder what kind of girl could make Jon
go straight and still accept all his feminine flair.
“Jonas, coming here is dangerous. Did my brother warn you?” Amelia asked.
“Mm. I’m not afraid.” Jonas just pouted.
“Thank you,” Amelia let out a long sigh of relief.
Finally, she had someone she could truly trust by her side.
Amelia didn’t love it, but she didn’t hate it either.
The Pink Cottage’s decor was completely different from Paloma’s place. It had a
a
warm, princessy vibe.
She settled into The Pink Cottage, and Aiden even moved his room there too.
Amelia was deeply resistant, but the decision wasn’t hers to make.
In the end, the only thing she could do had Jonas stay in the room next door. If Aiden so much as tried anything shady, she’d fake going into labor and have Jonas burst in right away.
In reality, Amelia was just worrying for nothing.
Aiden had never planned to do anything to her.
He was like an exceptionally patient hunter, watching his prey struggle inside the cage, just waiting for it to surrender of its own accord.
After all, he had a whole lifetime to play this waiting game with her.
It was just like breaking in a hawk. If he could qutlast it, the hawk would eventually yield.
In Lunova, Daniel and Tuff sat across from each other, both looking grim.
Chapter 201
After a long silence, Tuff finally spoke up. “We’ve sent a lot of people to look for Landon, but we still haven’t found anything. The Kling on Gang kaban pushing their luck this time!”
“Paloma is actually Kayla…” Daniel said, his voice low,
“What?” Tuff cut him off before he could finish..
Tuff shot to his feet in disbelief, his voice shaking. “Kayla… Kayla…”
“She lost her memory and the Kyle family turned her into their eldest daughter,” Daniel explained. “If she ever gets her memories back, do you think she’d help Landon?”
Tuff grabbed his cup of cold coffee and downed several gulps before finally calming down. “No, she won’t.”
“Why not?” Daniel blurted out, clearly shocked.
After all, they were real siblings.
Since Aiden was with the Kington Gang, Paloma should also have some influence within it.
Maybe, with just one word from her, Landon could come home.
“She’s long forgotten about the Kingsley family. There’s no way we can count on her,” Tuff said flatly.
Daniel frowned. “I remember Landon saying she was seven when she left home. She should remember something from back then.”
“I don’t know what she’s been through, but she’s completely forgotten about the Kingsley family and Norava.”
Tuff let out a bitter smile as he sat down, his face growing even more grave.
Daniel’s brow furrowed. “Have you ever had any contact with her?”
“Mm,” Tuff replied.
He let out a deep sigh, the pain clear in his voice as he started to recall the past. “Actually, that time, it wasn’t me who made Landon miss Kayla on purpose. It was Kayla herself…”
“What happened with her?”
Tuff sighed again.
“Tuff, can you just get to the point?”
Daniel was starting to get annoyed by all the sighing.
Tuff finally said, “Not only has she forgotten everything from before, but she also holds a deep grudge against us!”
“You guys?” Daniel asked, confused.
“Ever heard of the Flying Tiger Sect?” Tuff asked.
Daniel’s eyes went wide in shock. “You… you guys are from the Flying Tiger Sect?”
“Yeah,” Tuff nodded.
Daniel fell silent.
The Flying Tiger Sect was a special government–affiliated organization.
Chapter 201
They handled all sorts of international intel and took on covert missions to take down the bad guys and do good deeds.
They were even involved in advanced military tech.
Their latest project, Project Azureveil, was all about space tech and was really heating up.
Daniel thought back to those “unique hidden weapons” Amelia had on her and couldn’t help but ask, “So, what’s Landon’s real identity?”
“A big shot in the military tech world,” Tuff replied.
Daniel fell silent again.
With a real big shot beside her, the Zuckerberg family just small fry in comparison.
“That year, we wiped out an underground spy ring. Afterward, I found Kayla lying in a pool of blood. She looked just like Mrs. Kingsley…” Tuff said, his voice thick with emotion.
“At the time, I couldn’t be sure it was really her, so I called Landon over to check. But my mentor got there before I did. By the time Landon got there. Kayla was already gone.”
Tuff’s face was etched with pain.
Daniel could only imagine how intense things must have been back then.
He stayed quiet, just listening.
“I actually asked my mentor about it… He told me we were mistaken, that it wasn’t Kayla, and that she’d already disappeared. He even warned me not to let Landon keep digging into it,” Tuff said, his voice heavy with regret.
“But Landon just couldn’t let it go. He kept searching in secret, but the trail went cold, and there was no way to pick it up again…” Tuff continued, his voice trailing off.
After telling the whole story, Tuff let out a bitter smile. “It’s been so many years, and I’ve finally spoken about it. Daniel, you understand what my mentor meant, don’t you?”
“That was Kayla. Your mentor just refused to admit it,” Daniel said quietly.
“Yes.”
Tuff let out a long, relieved sigh. “Finally, someone understands what I’ve been through.”
Daniel patted him on the shoulder. “It’s been tough on you too. They’ll all forgive you.”
