Chapter 129
Night fell. Landon had a business dinner, and he thoughtfully let Amelia go home, given her delicate condition. Amelia happily accepted his arrangement
because she didn’t like business dinners at all.
It was getting warm as summer was around the corner. Idle, Amelia reorganized the closet.
According to the styles and colors of those clothes, she concluded that Landon preferred cool colors but shiny accessories.
What a sharp contrast! Amelia shook her head and chuckled, thinking, “That is why I can’t beat him.”
It was 10 pm when Amelia received a call from Aaron. “Mrs. Kingsley, Mr. Kingsley is drunk. He insists on your coming to pick him up.“Amelia
“Where are you?” Amelia asked.
“M Club.”
“Coming!” Amelia got changed and then headed straight to M Club.
It had been ages since her last visit to a club. She was soon dazzled by the glaring lights in the club.
Thankfully, Aaron appeared in time. “Mrs. Kingsley, this way, please.”
“Why didn’t you stop him from drinking?” Amelia asked with displeasure. “He is still under recovery.”
“There are many important business partners, and Mr. Kingsley was happy. Therefore, I failed,” Aaron explained.
With a long face, Amelia followed Aaron into a private room.
The light in the room was dim, and there was a mixture of wine, cigarettes, and perfume in the air.
Amelia wrinkled her nose in disgust because she didn’t like that smell.
“Look who is here!” Someone shouted, and Amelia quickly became the center of attention.
Aaron introduced, “Guys, this is Mrs. Kingsley.”
“Mrs. Kingsley! Did you come to catch Mr. Kingsley in the act?”
“Mrs. Kingsley is so strict. It is not late yet, and we are here for business.”
“What a killjoy!” From a corner came a defiant gaze.
Amelia looked over and, to her shock, saw Landon, completely wasted, leaning on Elaine’s shoulder.
Jealous and angry, she gritted her teeth and walked to her husband.
“Why is she here?” Aaron was astounded. When did Elaine arrive? She was not in the room when Aaron left to see Amelia. “Oh, what a misunderstanding!” Aaron thought.
“Drunk?” Amelia tried to pull Landon on his feet, but Elaine stopped her.
Elaine said, “Landon is drunk. Why don’t you let him take a rest here?”
For the first time in her life, she was so close to Landon. She felt great…
However, her happiness was brief because Amelia had come so fast. When could she sleep in Landon’s arms?

Amelia said calmly though her expression changed drastically. “I know.”
“Now that you’re here, why not join us for a drink?” Elaine signaled to the others to drink with Amelia.
“No, I came to take my husband home. Sorry, guys, I can’t drink with you because I will have to take care of my husband, Amelia responded and was emphatic about her husband.
She pushed Flaine aside and sat next to Landon. In fact, the sofa was long enough for more than
three people.
Amelia separated Elaine from Landon with her body. Landon shook a while, leaned back on the sofa, and became quiet.
On his cheeks and collars was lipstick of the same color as Elaine’s.
“Honey, we should go home,” Amelia said softly while patting Landon on the cheek. She was as calm as if she didn’t see the lipstick on his cheek and collar.
Landon opened his eyes. At the sight of Amelia, a loving smile lit up his face. “Honey, you came…”
“Let’s go home,” Amelia persuaded.
“Okay.” Decisive, Landon tried to get back on his feet.
Worried, Amelia stopped Landon and said, “Don’t move. Aaron, please bring the wheelchair over.”
“Honey, what brings you here?” Landon held Amelia’s hands and giggled. He was happy that his wife cared about him.
Amelia felt speechless. “What a stupid question!” she thought.
“Honey, say something!”
“I was worried about you.”
Landon got the answer he wanted, and his smile became bright.
Aaron covered his face with both hands and blocked the others‘ views with his body. “What a shame!” he thought.
Sitting beside Amelia, Elaine felt both mad and jealous. She didn’t know that Landon could be so soft and nice.
“Honey, your hands are so soft.” Landon took Amelia’s hands and caressed them with his face.
Amelia didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She was afraid that Landon would make a fool of himself if they lingered there.
Together with Aaron, she helped Landon into the wheelchair and hurried away. She didn’t show anger or say anything offensive to others.
The other men in the private room couldn’t help but envy Landon for such a good wife.
They would get a good lecture if their wives found them drunk. Elaine stomped her foot in frustration.
She thought, “Why didn’t Amelia get angry? She was supposed to make a scene here, become a laughingstock, and then be dumped by Landon. What a waste of my effort and my dad’s for this gathering!”
The breeze was cool, and Landon sobered up a bit. Then, he tilted his head and secretly observed Amelia by his side.
Amelia was pouting. It was clear that she was angry. She didn’t lose control of her anger in the club, and she didn’t have to hide her true feelings in the

She wondered, “What would Elaine do if I didn’t come to pick Amelia up? To sleep with him?”

“Honey, honey…” With his eyes closed, Landon murmured as a plan was formed in his mind.
Amelia snapped, “Stop calling me.”
“Honey, did you just yell at me?” Tipsy, Landon opened his eyes and looked at Amelia with a sad look.
Amelia’s temples throbbed. “You almost lost your chastity. Do you know that?”
“No, I don’t.”
“You!” Fuming with rage, Amelia turned her head away and ignored Landon.
Amused, Landon embraced Amelia. “Honey, don’t turn a cold shoulder on me…”

Landon’s head hit the car window. “Ouch!” Landon groaned.
Amelia asked as her heart tightened, “Hurt?”
“Here.” Landon pointed to his head and pleaded, “Blow on it.”
The car had a quick turn before it hit the lamp post. The corner of Aaron’s mouth twitched.
“Mr. Kingsley, please spare a thought for your public image!” Aaron thought.
“Honey…” Landon murmured.
Amelia couldn’t help but roll her eyes. She then leaned over to blow on Landon’s head. In the blink of an eye, her lips were captured by Landon.
