work. I don’t want to get in your much just now. She leaned back against the headboard. “Sorry, I wasn’t calm earlier. Take care of your
way,” she said.
Jonathan’s phone started ringing. He declined the call at first, but when it came through again, he had to pick up.
He walked out, and Teresa watched his back, realizing how busy he was. After all, it was work time, and he always had a ton on his plate.
The call was from the company. Jonathan had left the trade association meeting without permission, causing the loss of a major contract, Even though the vice president attended on his behalf, it made no difference.
On top of that, Jonathan had changed his schedule several times last week because of what happened with Teresa’s brother, which had already annoyed the board of directors.
Jonathan’s trip to Eleneburg couldn’t be postponed any longer. He finalized all his upcoming arrangements over there, then headed back to
the hospital room.
“I’m heading to Eleneburg tomorrow to take care of all the business down south. It should take me about three days,” Jonathan said.
“Once I’m back, I’ll stay by your side every step of the way until I see you safely give birth to our baby,” he added, his voice full of determination.
Teresa frowned and said, “Just go handle your work. I promise I’ll take good care of myself.”
“Do you think I can trust you?” Jonathan shot back. “You always say you won’t act impulsively and that you’ll take care of yourself, but then you do whatever you want and make me worry like crazy.”
Teresa retorted, “This time, I understand how serious this is. I won’t act recklessly anymore.”
“I’ve realized how serious this is too, so I won’t let you go through this alone again, like I did when you were pregnant with Mike,” Jonathan
said firmly.
Teresa froze, her eyes growing red with emotion.
“Give me three days. I’ll wrap up all the important work, and then I can stay by your side without any distractions. Just promise me that while I’m away, you’ll stay safe and not wander off,” Jonathan said, his tone softening.
“Can you do that for me?” he asked again, locking eyes with her.
Teresa was quiet for a moment, then nodded and whispered, “Okay.”
Meanwhile, Irene was venting to Heidi, telling her everything about Teresa.
Heidi covered her mouth in shock and asked, “You’re saying Teresa is pregnant with Jonathan’s baby again? And she’s almost seven months along?”
“Exactly, Jonathan didn’t even tell us. If Teresa hadn’t fainted, I wouldn’t have even known that woman was pregnant again,” Irene exclaimed, clearly frustrated.
Heidi replied with a sigh, “Irene, why don’t you just let them get remarried? They already have two kids together.”
“No way,” Irene shot back without even thinking.
She glared at Heidi and snapped, “Take her back? So she can hurt Jonathan again? No way, She’s lazy, greedy, clumsy, and can’t even handle

Heidi replied with a sigh, “But Jonathan loves her. He’s crazy about her. Otherwise, why would he end up getting her pregnant again?
Irene snorted, “Jonathan is bewitched by her face. She’s got those alluring bedroom eyes, and she uses them to make him lose his head.
Heidi pictured Teresa’s face and said, “She’s stunning, like she’s part foreign. I can’t help feeling soft toward her when I see her”
“Why should I feel sorry for her? She’s heartless and won’t even let me see my grandson. What kind of Grandma gets treated like this?” Irene grumbled, her frustration boiling over.
Heidi said, “If she’s that heartless, stop being nice. While Jonathan’s away, focus on keeping the kids and leave her with nothing.”

“You need to let your ex–daughter–in–law know you’re not someone she can push around,” Heidi said, her tone unyielding
Irene’s gaze grew icy. “You’re right. I can’t wait any longer,” she replied.
