Bobby watched Teresa leave and noticed the worried frown on her face. He hesitated for a moment before deciding to give Jonathan a call. “Mr. Lynn, Ms. Johnston just stopped by the office to see you,” Bobby reported.
Jonathan was caught off guard for a second. Then he asked, “Did she say what she wanted?”
“She didn’t mention anything specific. I already told her you were in Jarisburg,” Bobby replied.
“And you didn’t tell her to call me if she needed something?” Jonathan pressed.

“The person you’re calling is currently on another call…” the automated voice droned.
Jonathan frowned and then ended the call.
“Jonathan.” Evelyn called out to him and said, “Could you please help Lucas with his discharge? He doesn’t want to stay in the hospital anymore. I’m planning to take him back to Nareigh so he can get some proper rest for a while.”
“Sure,” Jonathan replied. “I’ll book your tickets. When do you want to leave?”
“Tonight, if possible, Isabel’s still at home. She’s still little and is missing me,” Evelyn explained.
“I see,” Jonathan said, starting to make the arrangements.
Evelyn thanked Jonathan for his help over the past few days. “There’s one more thing, Jonathan. It’s about Peggy’s lawsuit.”
She knew Jonathan had been handling Peggy’s case all this time, and she hoped he could show some leniency. Whatever sentence Peggy received–even
if it was years in prison–she just didn’t want it to be the death penalty.
“Evelyn, it’s not about me going easy on her. She hurt you and Lucas. Are you sure you want to let her off that easily?” Jonathan asked.

Jonathan pursed his lips slightly and nodded. “Okay.”
Just then, Jonathan’s phone rang. Jonathan answered, but it wasn’t Teresa calling. Jonathan’s eyes briefly showed a flash of disappointment Ha exchanged a few words about work with the caller and then hung up.
Tuming to Evelyn, he said, “I need to head to a business party at Prosper Group. If you need anything, just give me a call.”
Evelyn nodded. “Okay.”
At eleven o’clock that night, Teresa arrived in Jarisburg and got a call from Miriam. Miriam let out a frustrated sigh. “The deal still hasn’t gone through. It’s pretty obvious someone’s targeting Teresouth Group.”
Teresa replied, “I got it. I’m already in Jarisburg. I’ll handle things for the company.”
“How are you going to handle this, Teresa?” Miriam asked.
“I’ll deal with it at the source. I think I know who’s messing with Teresouth Group. I’ll have a talk with that guy,” Teresa said.
