Chapter 806
Teresa took out her phone and dialed Jonathan’s number.
Jonathan answered the call, “Hello?”
“It’s me. I want to get discharged,” Teresa said, getting straight to the point.
Jonathan was silent for a few seconds. “Why do you want to be discharged?”
Teresa said, “I’ve been in the hospital for several days already. I’m fine now. The doctor said I just need to rest at home.”
“Wait for me to get back from Jarisburg, and I’ll pick you up,” Jonathan said.
“No need. I’m leaving the hospital today. Don’t worry. I’ll take care of the baby,” Teresa insisted.
Jonathan noticed the urgency in Teresa’s voice. “Why are you in such a hurry to leave the hospital? Is there something you need to do?” he
asked.
“I’m going to pick up Mike. You sent him to the Lynn residence, right?” Teresa replied.
Jonathan explained patiently, “Grandpa called me many times, insisting that Mike come over for a meal. I kept telling him Mike was still in Jarisburg and couldn’t make it back.
“Since he’s back today, I figured I’d let him see Mike once. Don’t worry, I’ll send Mike back to you soon.”
Worried that Teresa might still be uneasy, he added, “Relax, I got it. There’s no way our son will go missing.”
“It’s not about whether he’ll go missing or not!” Teresa snapped.
Jonathan fell silent.
Teresa continued, “When you sent Mike to your home, couldn’t you have discussed it with me first? You clearly said Benny would bring him to me, but then you had Benny take him to the Lynn residence instead. I waited at the hospital all day.”
Jonathan replied, “I didn’t say Benny would bring him to you. I said Benny would take him back to Nareigh. I thought it would be good for Mike to stop by the Lynn residence first.
“Grandpa has been in a bad mood since he found out about Donald’s divorce, and seeing Mike might cheer him up. I planned to send Mike back to you tonight.”
He went through the whole explanation all over again. If it were anyone else, he wouldn’t even waste more than ten words on them.
“I see,” Teresa said. “I hope next time you’ll let me know in advance if something like this happens.”
Jonathan took a deep breath. He thought, ‘I’m Mike’s dad. Can’t I even make a call about my own kid? I’ve been running around Jarisburg dealing with her family’s mess, and now she’s mad at me over something this small?
‘Seriously, what does she think I’m gonna do to our kid?‘ I already told her I’m not trying to take him away, so what’s she still so on guard for? What’s she so scared of?‘
“Mr. Lynn,” a bodyguard’s voice came through the phone. “Should we let Ms. Johnston leave the hospital?”
“Let her be discharged, and give her back her phone. Who allowed you to take her phone?” Jonathan said sharply.

“Okay.” The bodyguard handed the phone back to Teresa, looking a bit aggrieved.
Jonathan then said to Teresa, “Alright, you can leave the hospital. Have the chauffeur take you home. Take care of yourself, alright? And remember what you promised. Don’t upset yourself and risk the baby.”
“I know.” Teresa hung up.
Meanwhile, at the Lynn residence. Hayden was indeed in a bad mood. After all, Donald and Jennifer got divorced.
Hayden asked Werner, “Are all the men in our family just failures?”
Werner felt incredibly awkward. He said, “Dad, why would you say so?”
“Why is it that none of the men in our family can have a successful marriage? Jonathan’s divorced, and now Donald’s divorced, too. Alas. Maybe there’s something wrong with the way we raised them,” Hayden said with a sigh.
Werner tried to comfort him, “These days, divorce happens all the time with young people. It’s nothing unusual.”
