Her kiss was desperate and intoxicating like a powerful drug. It silenced his thoughts as Teresa pressed her lips to his eagerly
Jonathan’s Adam’s apple bobbed, but he didn’t react. He just let Teresa do whatever she wanted, neither pushing her away nor pulling her closer
After kissing him for a while, Teresa had to let go. She was out of breath.

“Love kissing me?” Jonathan asked, his voice rough
“Yeah,” Teresa replied.
He teased, “Did it feel good? Was it satisfying?”
Teresa snapped back to her senses, suddenly realizing the man in front of her wasn’t the 25–year–old Jonathan she remembered. Then she shoved him away hard.
Jonathan, still reeling from the kiss before being pushed away, twitched his lips. “What? Is this how you treat me?” he thought.
Later that night. Teresa felt even worse. She glanced at the man lying next to her and instinctively scooted closer.
“Jonathan, help me. You put me to bed and then ignored me. You can’t leave me behind,” she complained.
“Handle it yourself,” Jonathan advised,
Teresa rolled her eyes. “How am I supposed to handle it myself?” she grumbled. She wasn’t a man, after all.
Jonathan still didn’t budge, lying on his side with his arm under his head.
Frustrated, Teresa turned him over and straddled him. She grabbed his neck with both hands and shook him, nearly at her wits end.
“Help me, now! Hey! Jonathan, you can’t treat me like t
this!” she protested.
After a night of passion, Teresa woke up feeling like she wanted to crawl under a rock and disappear. She pressed a hand to her forehead, completely mortified by how she’d acted the night before.
She’d been both clear–headed and not because her impulses had totally overpowered her reason last night. In the end, she was only human, and everyone had their desires.

At her last appointment, Jennifer had warned her to be extra careful. This second pregnancy might have a p
a posterior placenta, which meant she wouldn’t show as early. That kind of placenta usually led to more back pain, so Jennifer had told Teresa to be cautious.
Teresa’s back had always ached at night, but now the pain was worse, as if it might snap in two.
The door opened. Jonathan walked out of the bathroom, buttoning up his crisp white shirt with those long fingers. Teresa glanced quickly pulled the covers over her head, not sure how to face him.
“If you can still move, get yourself to the dining room. If not, I’ll just have to carry you to breakfast,” Jonathan teased.
“I’m not some old lady. I can walk just fine,” Teresa retorted.
Jonathan let out a low chuckle.

Teresa hadn’t expected him to be up so early. She thought he’d just taken a shower, but he’d already made breakfast,
After a night of passion. Teresa was starving. She welled down her food, barely pausing for breath, Jonathan had even made her a special vegetable soup to help with her hangover, and she finished one bowl but was still hungry
“Is there any more? I’m still hungry,” she asked.
Jonathan ladled her another bowl, and when she’d nearly finished, he finally said slowly, “Do you remember what you said last night?”
Teresa’s hand froze instantly. She coughed and replied coolly, “Nope, I don’t remember”
“You don’t, huh?” Jonathan said in anger. He pulled out his phone and hit play on a recording.
As a series of intimate sounds filled the room, Teresa’s voice cracked through, breathless and broken.
“It’s fine. You don’t have to worry
y about me this time. I’m in my safe period, so if I do end up pregnant, let’s face it together,” Teresa said.
“Face it together? You promise?” Jonathan asked.
– Teresa murmured.
“Do you love me?” Jonathan asked.
“No-” Teresa replied, her voice muffled by Jonathan’s kiss.
“Do you love me? Answer me again,” Jonathan insisted.
“Yes, I do. I love you,” Teresa responded.
“Who do you love?” Jonathan demanded.
“I love you, darling” Teresa replied.
