Chapter 355
When Teresa left Nareigh, she made sure to pack the wedding rings.
She’d put both rings in her jewelry box, and now that she thought about it, they were probably still in the bottom drawer of the bedroom at her Everport apartment, a place Jonathan would never think to look.
She mused, ‘But those rings… Never mind. I’ll just leave them.‘
The next day, Teresa headed to the office, planning to drop Michael off at Miriam’s place. Miriam just told her, “Bring him over whenever; it’s no trouble.
Miriam grinned. “Eddie didn’t let me down. Just like I thought, Irene tried to get him to break up with me, but he told her, ‘This is my life, not yours, and then just ignored her. When she kept calling, he blocked her number.”
Teresa laughed, “So I guess Eddie ran away from home, huh?”
“He actually went back to school to pick up his diploma and hang out with his college friends for a few days,” Miriam said. So she was pretty free these days.
Teresa said, “Alright, now that I’m back, I’ll take care of things at work. You just relax.”
Miriam laughed, “It really wasn’t any trouble. I’m just so happy you’re back.”
They didn’t chat for long. Teresa left Michael with Miriam and went off to get busy at the office.
There was a mix–up with an order–two hundred pieces of clothing were missing because someone on the team slipped up. The fabric for these clothes was usually sourced from Everport, which was the closest supplier to Nareigh.
The team needed to get to Everport as quickly as possible, pick up the goods, and make it back the same day to keep their losses to a minimum.
Teresa kept her expression neutral. “I’m not going to Everport. I’ll send a few people instead.”
“Understood, Ms. Johnston,” replied a team member.
Teresa hesitated and then changed her mind. “Actually, I’ll go myself. I don’t want another mistake. I’ll pick a few people to come with me. We’ll take the fastest flight out.”
Including Teresa, there were five people in total, all people she trusted.
Once they arrived in Everport, Teresa and her team wasted no time. They got in touch with the suppliers, met up, and hammered out the details. By the time they finished, it was already dark, a little after six.
A team member asked, “Ms. Johnston, should we head back now?”
“Alright.” Teresa got ready to call a cab to the airport, pulling out her phone to check the time. There was an hour and a half left before takeoff.
Jadeleaf Apartment was just about three miles away. If she took a cab there first, she’d still have enough time to make her flight.
“You guys go to the airport ahead of me. I need to make a quick stop, but I’ll catch up with you soon,” she said.
She wasn’t sure if Jonathan was off work yet. Teresa promised herself she was only going back for the ring.
If he answered the door, she’d just say she forgot something, grab the ring, and leave right away–no lingering.
When she arrived at Jadeleaf Apartment, it had only been three days since she left.
She reached the sixth floor, took a deep breath, and was about to knock when she realized the door was slightly open.

Chapter 355
“Hello? Anyone here?” she called from the entryway. “Jonathan?” No one responded.
His suit jacket and tie were tossed on the sofa, and the air still carried a faint smell of alcohol.
Teresa frowned as she walked into the bedroom. There was Jonathan, sprawled out on her bed, wrapped up in her blanket and using her pillow. Half his face was showing, and both his ears and cheeks were flushed red.
