Christian’s father died of advanced–stage lung cancer around Christmas, and he had to rush back home. It delayed his return to Nareigh. To be on the safe side, Christian took his mom to a tertiary hospital for a full checkup.
Even though his morn didn’t want to spend the money, Christian was firm about it. During the checkup, they found out she had breast cancer. The good news was that they caught it early, and they scheduled her for surgery right away.
All this stuff was really weighing on Christian. He’d always been super disciplined, working as a CEO’s secretary after college.
