Chapter 26
Inside Benjamin’s bedroom.
From time to time, a breeze fluttered through the room, making the curtains ripple like waves
But the air inside felt oppressively heavy.
He stared at the empty room, a pained look etched across his face. Though he had woken up, his legs were completely paralyzed.
No matter how hard he tried, his legs wouldn’t move. The pain in his lower back made it hard to breathe. He had been trying for nearly half an hour–still, there was no sensation at all.
Benjamin’s mood gradually sank into despair, the look in his eyes a swirl of frustration and agony.
He had always been the golden boy–born with a silver spoon in his mouth, raised in luxury. A titan in business, spotless in his private life. No scandals. No weaknesses.
But now, at the very peak of his life, disaster had struck
He was crippled..
The searing, tidal wave of pain and humiliation threatened to drown him. But Benjamin forced himself to stay composed. His will had been forged through two brushes with death–this moment of despair lasted only half an hour.
Even if his heart bled, not a single crack would show on his face.
Knock knock…
His cold, sharp gaze flicked toward the door. It was his bodyguard.
“Come in,” he said, voice low and frigid, a chill so tangible it seemed to pierce through the walls and straight into Jeremy outside.
Jeremy involuntarily shivered. The current Benjamin fel even more cold and terrifying than before.
Still, he summoned his courage and spoke quietly, “President, the Old Master asked you to come to the back garden,”
“No.”
The rejection was immediate, voice like steel.
Jeremy persisted. “President, the Old Master said.. it’s about the Young Madam. You have to come.
This sudden appearance of a wife–Benjamin still hadn’t gotten used to it.
“What’s going on?” His voice was filled with irritation.
“I don’t know, sir,” the bodyguard replied. “The butler just said it was urgent, didn’t give a reason.”
Benjamin gave a slight nod, signaling Jeremy to come push the wheelchair.
His expression grew even darker, veins subtly bulging at his temples–a quiet storm of repressed fury and elegance.
Was this what life would be from now on? Stuck in a wheelchair?
Just then, his phone rang. At this hour, it had to be something urgent.
It was Brad.
His heart gave a small jolt.
“Hello.” Only one word, but low and hoarse, filled with pressure.
“Benjamin! Thank God! After all this time, we finally got meeting with Samanthal Tomorrow at three!” Brad’s voice was brimming with
excitement.
Benjamin was equally thrilled–though not a trace of it showed on his face.

Chapter 26
He wasn’t doomed after all.
He. Benjamin, had always been the one blessed by fortune, even in the midst of disast
Samantha was a legend in the medical world. Every patient she accepted received not just treatment, but a miracle.
As long as there was still a breath left in him, she could bring him back from the edge.
“Good. Go get her personally, Benjamin instructed.
“Got it. You should rest.”
When they reached the entrance, Amanda was standing there holding Mark in her arms.
She wore a simple set of loungewear, but it couldn’t hide her dangerously alluring figure. Her voluminous waves framed her delicate features, enhancing her already striking beauty.
And in that moment–holding the child, eyes clear and lips slightly parted–she looked stunning, almost painfully so.
“What are you doing here?”
Benjamin’s tone remained cold, clearly unwelcoming toward this inexplicable stranger of a wife.
Before Amanda could respond, he added, “Since this is about you, you might as well come along.”
Amanda frowned faintly but said nothing, silently following Benjamin toward the back garden.
They didn’t encounter anyone on the way. The only sound was the gentle whirring of the wheelchair wheels rolling over the stone path.. When they arrived at the garden, they found it already packed with people–lurking in the shadows, whispering in every direction.
Amanda heard their words clearly:
“That Young Madam is so shameless. Trying to seduce Young Master Barry in the middle of the night? Absolutely disgraceful.”
“She’s even crying now. She’s got the nerve to cry? By seniority, she’s Young Master Barry’s aunt–in–law!”
Amanda let out a cold, bitter laugh.
Just as she expected..
Barry and Delphine were trying to ruin her–frame her, disgrace her, drive her to ruin.
Just then, a pitiful voice rang out:
“Grandpa, it’s not my fault. It was her–my little aunt–she seduced mel She asked to meet me here tonight!”
