Chapter 10
The old man looked a little sorrowful and shot him a glance. “You old gossip. Even at your age, you’re still so nosy. Go keep an eye on Jadeview Park. Make sure nothing goes wrong.
“Tomorrow morning, send some things over to Amanda. The young madam of the Schmidt family shouldn’t be treated shabbily”
The butler smiled and nodded before leaving with a grin.
The old man always had his own plans. He was just waiting to watch the drama unfold.
Back in her room, Amanda held her son in her arms. Mark had been holding up all day, and the moment he touched the bed, he fell asleep.
Only then did Amanda have a moment to breathe. Standing by the large bed, she looked down at the man lying there. His features were finely sculpted–sharp brows, a high nose bridge, a prominent philtrum, and lips that were inexplicably sensual.
She couldn’t help but wonder why her eldest had ended up with Benjamin.
And who was the man from that night? She had no memory of it at all!
Amanda stared blankly at her son’s sleeping face. It all felt like a dream.
Had she really found her son this quickly? Looking at his little face as he slept, it all still felt a little unreal.
Benjamin, for the fact that you raised my son, I will make sure to save you. My son’s lifesaver is my lifesaver too.
She gave Benjamin a pill, then took out her silver needles and began acupuncture. His injuries were severe–the attack had been meant to kill him.
Afterward, she checked her son’s pulse. A while later, her expression drastically changed.
She had already suspected the truth, but she hadn’t expected them to be so cruel.
Tears welled up in Amanda’s eyes as she looked at her son’s handsome little face. Her heart felt like it was being torn apart. “Baby, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.. I prayed every day for you to be safe, to be loved by many… but life’s still been so hard on you.” Suppressing her sobs, the agony in her heart was gut–wrenching
The pain of that year–just thinking about it sent waves of agony through her.
Barry, tonight is only the beginning. You and your greedy schemes–I’ll make you wish you were dead.
After a long while, Amanda calmed down. She removed the silver needles from Benjamin–only to notice a faint blue glow on them. Her heart dropped.
She quickly checked his pulse again. A moment later, her expression darkened even more.
Even the medication he took regularly had been tampered with..
By the time she was done and finally lay down to sleep, it was already deep into the night.
Ten peaceful days passed. Amanda’s warning had the desired effect, and the old man used the opportunity to suppress Delphine. The Schmidt family didn’t dare cause trouble, and Amanda finally enjoyed a few quiet days
Still, everyone in the household harbored their own agendas. She couldn’t afford to relax.
Aside from the doctors who came to check on Benjamin, no one bothered her.
There were two groups of doctors–some sent by the Schmidt family, and others, according to the butler, sent by Miss Lowe Amanda remembered the maids mentioning a Miss Lowe. Could she be the one who had said something to Mark?
Late night.

Chapter 10
Back courtyard.
Inside Barry’s room, he listened to his assistant’s report: Amanda had been staying quietly in Jadeview Park.
He hadn’t had any opportunity to get close.
His expression was gloomy. Because of Charlie’s stupidity, all his hard work had been undone. Grandpa’s one order had knocked him right back to square one.
Was it because his uncle had been born of Grandpa’s most beloved woman?
Barry was indignant.
Ever since Amanda arrived, it was clear she had set them up. She was targeting them.
Same name, different face, and an orphan at that he couldn’t help but grow suspicious of her identity.
Barry looked at his assistant, eyes cold and dangerous. He ordered in a low voice. Tomorrow, bring Carol to me. I have something for her to do.”
The assistant nodded. “Yes, President.”
“President, should we do something tonight? It’s been ten days–they’ve grown careless Carl’s voice was sinister.
Barry shot him a look. “Do it. Keep it discreet. Don’t let anyone notice.”
Carl grinned wickedly. “President, this is what I’m best at.”
In the middle of the night, Amanda was woken by a strange noise outside the window
There were guards stationed on the first floor. Without the butler’s permission, no one would dare come upstairs.
Benjamin’s room was simple and minimalistic. The second floor only had two rooms- -his and his son’s. But as a devoted father, he always slept with his child.
The sound came from the window.
Amanda slept on a floor mat. Hearing the noise, she looked toward the window.
A huge, ghostly silhouette floated across it.
The scene was terrifying at first glance.
The wind blew through, lifting a curtain of long, black hair.
A woman with flowing hair stared at her with dead, unblinking eyes.
Amanda jolted in shock, nearly biting her tongue.
There were only two things she truly feared in life:
One, ghosts.
Two, giving birth again. Bearing quadruplets had been pure torture..
But this ghost looked too ugly
Looking closely–wait, was that a tail?
That bright, obvious string did they think she was stupid?
Half–asleep, Amanda rubbed her eyes and walked over, opening the window.
What she saw w was a pair of large
feel.
Amanda was even more confused. A woman with
