We walked in and we saw students, of course, she needed to eat, so I went toward the cafeteria, they offered food at all time for the hungry wolves. Everyone who saw us, bowed their heads for the both of us, I’m an alpha and she’s in pain, they respect both of those things.

She turned to me and with all of her might, she slapped me straight on the face, I looked at her with disbelief, but the anger and pain where visible in her eyes, I knew I took it too far when I picked her up and ran over here, but what else does she expect me to do? Leave her there for Levent to bite her neck while he mourns his mate? What kind of mate would I be to here then, I couldn’t do any of that, I had to be there for her.
“Aouch, that must hurt,” one of the students says seeing her slap me, maybe it was better if I took her to my room first, but I wanted to feed her first, before taking her there.

“It’s fine, she’s in pain,” I say out loud, giving her an excuse to why she slapped me although nothing excuses her behaviour with me, I’m her mate. I’m here for her, and here she is hitting me.
“You need to grab a bite, and then we’ll get to bed,” I say, and then I saw Mariano walking toward us, he was a friend of her, and he’s a friend of mine as well, he was in the funeral as well, so I didn’t mind his presence.
“Hey, I can show you what’s edible and what’s not around here,” Mariano says with a smile.
“Right, believe him, he’s the expert around here,” I agree with him.
“I’ve been here for longer than your mate has been, and we have tried it all, and we have tasted it all,” he says making her smile, just a very small smile.
“Come on let’s go,” I say holding her hand, she tensed and wanted to get away from me, but I held tight to her, not allowing her to get away from me, to slip away, I’m not going to hold back anymore, she’s mine and only mine.
We got the food according to Mariano’s recommendation, and then we took a seat, all three of us, but others did join us as well, they sat down and looked at her with worry and fear, they wanted to show their respect for her.
“This food is terrible,” she says taking another bite of her food.
“Why do you think I’m always at Meggy’s place,” Mariano says.
“Even my burned food tastes better than this,” I say making her smile

“If they burned it, it would’ve hidden some of the flavour,” another one of the students add.

“I heard once, that the food is terrible for a reason, you’re the military, you shouldn’t be used to comfort,” Mariano says.
“That’s a valid theory, I heard the same thing growing up, you should see what we eat, the ones who aren’t trainee, we have much better food,” I say teasing them all, one of them even pretended to be hit in the heart.

“Then why did you bring me here?” Lotus asks me with a raised brow, I wanted to say because you need the company, because your house is going to be a trigger for you.
“They don’t offer us food all day like they do here, so I thought it’s better if we came here,” I answer her with a tight smile.
“Oh how evil of them,” a student says.
“You know, I own two cats back at home, I too keep food on the clock for them, but I bet their cat food tastes a million time better,” she says still eating her food.
“You’re eating it,” Lotus comments.
“Hunger is real, I’ll sell that jerk next to you for some of my mom food,” she says pointing to a but that I knew was her mate, she’s newly changed and they both joined the academy at the same time.
“You’d sell me? At least say it’s for Sunday roast and not just some craft mac and cheese,” he says, begging his mate, making mine smile again, I knew the company would do her well.
