“Who is it?” I ask him a low voice, but he just shook his head at me.
“Uncle Damian, Stop hiding things from me, just tell me which one of them is in sick?” I yell at him, my heart was breaking with fear, I’m worried about them both, I don’t want either of them to be hurt.
“It’s your mother,” he says in a sad voice, looking down to the ground, my mom, I felt the whole world spin around me, I had to take a step back and then get myself straight again.—
“What’s wrong with my mom?” I ask him my voice breaking.
“We’ll get there and then you’ll know” he says trying to push me off again, but that won’t work on me, it’s my mother who’s hurt, I can’t have her being hurt or in pain while I’m here.
“Uncle Damian for god’s sake,” I yell at him.
We heard a knock on our door, both Luna and Alpha Richard came in, sounding worried, we told them to come in, they were worried since we were yelling.
“It’s okay uncle, it’s just some bad news,” Uncle Damian tells them.
“What kind of bad news Damian, we’re all family, there’s no need to hide things from us,” he scolds my mate, and I nod, I agree with him, there’s no need to lie or hide things from them, they are our family too.
Not as close of family as my mother, but they were distant family for me, and so we decided on telling them what’s was going on, he told them that he received a phone call saying that my mother was hurt, and we need to get back now.

“He won’t tell me what’s wrong with my mother,” I say, demanding the truth.
“It’s her mother Damian, you can’t hide these things from her,” alpha Richard says.
“She’ll know as soon as we get there,” Uncle Damian says, still refusing to tell.
“It’s not fair, I need to know what’s going on with my own mother,” I demand, and they both agreed with me, it was three against one now, all of us looking at him, he had to give in and tell us.
“Tell her,” Alpha Richard says.
“It’ll hurt,” he says a tear going down his face.
“No matter how much it hurts, you need to tell her the truth, we’re here for her,” Luna Whitney says coming to my side, she held my hand with one hand, while the other one was around my shoulder.
“Your mother had stomach pain, she went to the doctor, they said she had a tumor in her stomach and needs surgery to remove it and check if it’s benign, that’s why she sent us away, so you won’t be worried at her during your break,” he says starting to tell me the truth.

“And how did the surgery go?” I ask, is she still in the surgery? Is that why they called us needing us back, my mother was in the hospital.
“She’s stronger than you know, we’re born humans, but the goddess has planted the strength of a wolf into our hearts. She can take the truth, the whole truth, don’t burn her nerves until you get there, and don’t give her false hope, what happened to her mother Damian?” Luna asks, holding me tighter, alpha Richard came to my side as well, he too held
on to me.

Damian says and my heart broke
I’m going to lose my own mother in a month? I won’t have her for any longer than one month.
“There’s more?” Lask him, he was still holding himself up, it felt like he’s still hiding something from me, one more thing, but what else could it be, my mother was hurt, and she’s on her dying bed, what else? The wolf is dying too? The wolf needs a new kidney? what else is there?
“I’m sorry but yes,” he says more tears going down his face, he was crying for real now, sobbing even.
“Tell,” I say, bracing myself for the worst.
“Your mother, she never made it out of the surgery, her heart…her heart couldn’t take it, she coded on the table,” he says, finally letting down all of his strong demure, he was sobbing and crying out loud, I broke free from the alpha and Luna’s arms and ran toward him, I hugged him and started crying, I sobbed my heart out.
She can’t die, not like this, not now. How would I ever get back home and not find here there, how would I survive my life without her, who would I talk to, she was everything for me, we were always there for each other. I never had a father, she was the one who raised me, and now I’m alone, I’m an orphan now, without anyone in this world.
