“I love you, Lotus, don’t forget that,” she says reminding me one more time that she loves me and I loved her back, I smiled at her, waved goodbye and left not even thinking twice of it anymore, she’s just being dramatic that’s what I told myself, everything would be okay by the time I come back.
“Is River coming with us?” I ask Uncle Damian as we got to the cars.
“No, he’s driving his own car, but we plan on making a stop before we get there for coffee,” he says getting settled in his seat, the drive started, we stopped for coffee as promised and then we kept on driving.
“I thought it was an hour drive,” I whined getting bored of sitting in my place.
“Who said so? It’s more like three,” he answers me.
“What! they told me an hour,” I groaned.
“They must of lied to you so you won’t be too terrified of the whole drive,” eh says with a shrug.
“I don’t like them anymore,” I groaned, angry at everyone for lying to
- me.
“As long as you like me,” he says offering me a hand to hold, and I held it back.
“Mom was acting weird,” I note.
“She’s a mother and it’s the first time you go somewhere alone,” he
answers me.

“She pushed me to go, I didn’t go on my own, they practically had us out of the house,” I groaned.
“Maybe they want to have sex in the living room,” Uncle teases me.
“Stop it,” I whined.
“Or maybe your bed,” he keeps on teasing me making me groan.
“Stop it, not nice Uncle, not nice at all,” I object.
“I’m not mean to be nice all the time, I get to tease you back,” he says.
“I don’t like you when you tease back,” Lobject.
“Object all you like, even better when we get there, tell my uncle on me,” he says laughing.
“If you keep on laughing, I’m going to get in the car with River,” I warn him.
“Fine, fine, I’ll stay quiet,” he says trying his best to keep his to hold his laugh in.
The rest of drive, we spent listening to music, and signing along, we both had the worse voice you could hear out there, ask anyone and they’d say we’re terrible, but for each other, we loved it, it felt like the nicest voice ever.
Finally we made it there, it wasn’t like the compound, this felt like a normal town, a normal neighbourhood, houses all along, and then there was no gates, no security, it felt just normal to be around here.
“These are the pack homes, every one of these have part of our pack,” Uncle Damian starts explaining, every time we passed by someone he knew, he’s wave and say hello.

“Okay,” I say, nodding my head.
“Pay attention to the shadows of the tree, tell me when you see them,” Uncle Damian warns me and I do just that, paying attention, trying to see what he means, and then I saw them running, wolves, like ten of them, I felt my heart start to race with fear, these weren’t uncle Damian, I wasn’t used to seeing or touching them.
“Do you want me to have a panic attack?” I ask him, is that why he asked me to look at them.
“Of course, not, I pointed them out so you won’t be scared when you catch them on your own, their job is to patrol, most of the pack members do runs, it could also be punishment for over hyper teens, they make sure there’s no troubles around and if there is they’d call the alpha,” he answers me.
“They won’t get near me right?” I ask him.
“I told my uncle to inform them to keep their distance, you’re still human, and they might spook you, and I’m very protective of what’s mine.” he answers me.
“You didn’t tell him I’m scared of cats right?” I ask him.
“Nope, I’m not going to share that information with them, they don’t need to know, by the time we get back here, you would be a wolf as well, and you won’t be scared anymore,” he says.
“What do you mean? Be wolf?” I ask him, that sentence kept being thrown in the air.
“The wolf academy, when you join it, you get changed into a wolf,” he says matter of facts.
“And how do you do that?” I ask him.
