My mate insists on calling me uncle, I don’t know if it’s just the fever messing with her or if she’s messing with me, she calls me uncle and giggles, she was the cutest, so I didn’t correct her for now. She doesn’t know I’m her mate, although she should feel it, she should know the guy who stayed with her the whole night, the one who made her fever go down is me.
I stayed the whole night with her, I slept on the same bed as her, and when she woke up, she didn’t remember anything, she was like she had an amnesia. I pretended to be okay with that, going to the kitchen and waiting for her to get ready with my brother and his mate.
“She doesn’t remember,” I say feeling hurt.
“It’s better that she doesn’t remember, she doesn’t know we know about the whole mate situation,” Levent says.
“I still need to know why we can’t tell her that I’m her mate?” I ask them still hurt by the fact that she doesn’t want me.
“She’s scared of wolves,” Victoria answers me.
“Why would she be scared? Did any of them touch her? Hurt her?” I ask in a growl, I’m going to tear every limb off their bodies for hurting my baby girl.
“No they didn’t touch her, she’s just been terrified of them since she
was a pup,” Victoria says.
“What am I supposed to do with her?” I ask worried, should I take her to a doctor? Get her checked, will she still be afraid of me, since I’m her mate.
“Nothing, give her time, and wait for her to be ready before showing off that you’re her mate and you’re a wolf,” Levent says.
“Since when did you become the expert?” I ask my older brother.
“Since I got mated before you did,” he says with a big smile on his face, I was just glad I managed to find my mate before I got as old as my brother.
“Right, of course old guy,” I say, with a chuckle, she decided to join us finally, her cheeks were pink, her hair was covering her face, but she looked like the cutest girl ever.
She and my brother were having a small word fight, it was funny at first, them teasing each other, but it ended with my brother feeling hurt, I don’t believe she could hurt his feeling, she’s his step daughter, and I know he’ll soon count her as his own daughter and will do whatever to keep her safe no matter what.
After my brother and his mate left, we decided to head out, she wants to go on a drive, and she’s a fan of my car which made me extra happy. We decided to have ice cream, and the best shop is outside of the compound, a shop that’s been open for the last seventy years, and they have the best ice cream/ever.
“So where are you taking me?” she asks seeing that we’re in the middle of nowhere.

“I’m kidnapping you obviously,” I say making her giggle
“What are you so happy about you wanna be kidnapped?” I ask her and she nods happily.
“Fine. I’m never giving you back, and we’re going to eat ice cream. didn’t you ask for,” I remind her, and the smile on her face got a little bit bigger.
I parked the car and walked inside the shop together, she even let me hold her hand when I tried to, there was other wolves around, but they weren’t just ones to start chaos, we only attack when we’re threatened
“Pick.” I say, pointing to the ice cream fridge, filled with a tone of different flavours.
“I can’t pick,” she says looking at them.
“Can you let her taste?” I ask the shop owner, I know he doesn’t mind letting people taste before picking.
“What’s your favourite fruit?” he asks her.
“Strawberry,” she answers right away, I didn’t know it until now.
“Here you go,” he says handing her a small spoon of their strawberry ice cream, next he moved to their chocolate special, asking about her favourite one which happened to be M&Ms, and finally they moved to more innovative flavours, one they called Lotus flower.
“It’s named after me!” she says excited, she had a taste from it, and she enjoyed it.
“What about you Sir?” the young guy asks me.

“I’ll have Lotus please,” I say with a smile.
He handed us our ice cream and we took a seat, enjoying the sweet treat, and I hoped we’d be talking some more, having a chat about us.
“So tell me more about you,” I ask her.
“I don’t have much to tell, I moved from my home to this place, and I go to school, I made a couple of friends, and that’s all,” she says with a shrug, that’s all she had to tell me.
“Your friends are they wolves?” I ask her, knowing that one of them is mated to an alpha.
“Uhhh…the guys are I think, but I have a friend Rosie, she’s an omega,” she says excitedly, so she’s friend with a runt? And they just allow her to walk around the compound without any limits or protection.
“She’s allowed out?” I ask her, unable to hide my shock.
“Yeah, she’s a big bad wolf,” she says making me laugh.
“You should ask her to show you her wolf,” I say still laughing.
“What are you laughing at?” she asks me.
“If your friend calls her mate a big fluff ball, an omega in her wolf form is more like a very small puppy, even for dogs sizes she’s small,” I say shaking my head, that if she can actually manage to shift, some omegas are too weak to do so.
“Don’t offend Rosie, you don’t even know her,” Lotus says, star for her friend.

“No they are not, it’s bad to stereotype,” she says and I felt the urge to fall in love with her, to melt in her arms, she’s the cutest.
“Okay little miss, you can defend her all you want, I love that about you,” I say making her turn from mama bear role into a little pup who’s blushing all cutely.
“You don’t love things about me,” she says objecting.
“Tell me something little flower,” I start and she just nods still blushing as hell.
“What?” she asks, I was taken back by her blush, I forgot to ask her my question.
“Yeah, my question,” I say shaking my head, trying to focus again.
“Yes, your question?” she repeats.
“You just love objecting, if I say your hair is pretty you’d say?” I ask waiting for her to object.
“Nu–uh it’s not, it’s dry and fine,” she objects as expected.
“Is objecting a hobby of yours,” I ask her smiling still.
“I love objecting,” she says making me laugh.

“I could tell, but what else do you like?” I ask her, wanting her to say me! She should love me! I’m her mate.
“I like this ice cream,” she answers.
“So what do you think about mating? Other than your mom and my brother?” I ask her, trying to get her opinion on the topic away from her mother, I know no one likes to think of their mother like that.
“I feel like the wolves, they just steal the humans from their old lives and make them their mates. What if I don’t want a mate? Why should it be forced on me? I mean the human,” she says, she was talking about herself, she feels like I’m going to kidnap her away from her world.
“Stealing away? We don’t steal our mates, if mine wants me to move her anywhere, any pack, I’ll drop mine and move away for her,” I say defending myself, although she’d love my pack, River would adore her and help spoil her to hell and back only to get back at me.
“Her? So you have a mate?” she asks me, I could tell her a version of the truth.
“I do, we just mated, she’s taking some time to adjust,” I say not lying to her.
“So I have an auntie out there?” she asks me giggling, right because she likes calling me uncle.
“Yeah, you can say so,” I say with a shrug, it’s kind of logical.
“I don’t want one, I’m good without it,” she says so sure of her words.
“And if you end up with one? Then what?” I ask her wanting to know

“I’ll reject them, curse them to hell, uhh kill them?” she says all too confident.
“Rejecting would get you killed, curse them to hell, that’s a good one, but I don’t believe the goddess Celine would leave a wolf there, and finally killing them, wolves are hard to be killed,” I explain to her why she can’t get rid of me.
“How do you kill one?” she asks me in a very curious voice.
“Hmm burn them, silver knife to the heart, take their mates away,” I answer her honestly.
“Wait if she rejects you she’d die and kill you?” she asks me.
“Exactly, we’ll be joined again in Celine’s temple, and she’ll be forced by the goddess to give me a chance,” I say, that’s the story we’ve been told and taught our whole life.
“What if she still doesn’t agree?” she says her mind set into rejecting

“Then goddess would curse her to hell, and I’ll get a new mate that’s made just for me and she’ll love me a lot, and a lot,” I say and I could tell she didn’t want anyone else to love me, I could see it in her eyes, in the way she’s acting, in her reactions, she was jealous, which was really good.
“I don’t like your goddess anymore,” she says with a sigh.
“She’s fair, so maybe don’t reject your mate?” I offer her.

“I’m good without him,” she says, she finished her ice cream as did I, we left the shop and got back in my car, I drove us back home, but then I decided to slow down, I took a side road, one that’s empty and I knew it’s very rare for cars to take. I wasn’t going to hurt her or kidnap her or anything like that, instead, I had something else in my mind that might get me in her good grace.
“You wanna drive?” I say and she nods.
I parked the car, got out of the car, pushed the driver seat closer to the steering wheel, and then told her to get in, I gave her a quick rundown on the peddles, and then got in the front seat and told her to go ahead and drive.
She took her foot off the breaks and the car started to move which made her panic and hit the breaks again hard making the car stop with a stump.
“Now do it again, this time slowly, very slowly,” I say encouraging her, she did the same mistake two more times before getting the hang on how to drive with the speed of ten miles per hour.
“Next step, keep the car straight,” I say holding the steering wheel along with her, making sure she doesn’t hit a tree or drive us off the road.
“I’m driving,” she says happily.
“Yes, you are,” I say with a big smile on my face, I was very proud of her.
“Can I borrow your car later? Drive us back home?” she asks me too excitedly.
“I don’t think you’re ready for that yet, but we’ll keep practicing till you

ready,” I say, the new car can be damned, I don’t care if she’ll hit it.
