“Baby, I’m going out for a bit, I’ll be right back,” Mom whispers to me, but I was practicing dying, closing my eyes and letting the darkness.

“Mmmm…” was the best I could manage to say.
“Can’t I give her something for her fever?” Mom asks the beta and Levent.
“You can give her, but it’s gonna make no difference until the mate finds it’s way over here,” Beta says.
“So next one who knocks on our door, we just allow them to come in and cuddle my daughter?” Mom asks her.
“Of course, not.” Levent objects.
“Said you, first time I met you, you kidnapped me for an hour cuddle session in your car,” Mom says, she never told me that, maybe she was worried I’d judge her too hard for it.
“When her wolf come, we’ll make sure it’s actually them, and make sure they are sane and only then we will allow them to get near her,” Levent says.
“Well baby, how lucky you are, your mom didn’t have an
overprotective father to make sure her mate is safe before he kidnapped. her for hugs,” Mom says, kissing the top of my head.

“Step–father,” I mumble.
“Of course, I’ll never dream to be anything more than your step–father, at least I’m not just wolf anymore,” Levent says and they all chuckled.
“Still wolf,” I repeat.
“Always,” Mom says, agreeing with me.
“I need to go check on the pack, I’ll be back in a bit, you guys okay staying here?” Beta asks.
“Yes, we’ll have Damian as well in a bit, everything should be fine,” Levent assures her.
“If you need me call,” she says, leaving us alone, I decided to get some more sleep, no need to wake up, when they find my wolf, they can tell it to go to hell, and that I curse it and curse their whole bloodline. I woke up with a jolt when I heard the doorbell ring, mom assured me it’s just Levent’s brother, the extra protection that’s coming to help us.
“He’s coming in, tell her,” Levent yells telling mom to tell me that his brother is coming in.
“Come in hottie uncle,” I call out with a small giggle.
“Lotus,” Mom scolds.
“Flower, for god’s sake,” Levent says but I only giggled I loved teasing
him.

“You will do no such thing miss.” Mom yells at me.
“What?” I ask confused.
“Climb him up, Flower,” Levent says hiding his face behind his hand, trying to hide a laugh or maybe his terror.
“She can do whatever she wants with me.” My new uncle says with a smile on his face, even his teeth were sparkling white, how could he be so perfect.
“Damian, for fuck sake, she’s mated,” Levent says between gritted teeth.
“I know,” Damian answers, I couldn’t take my eyes off him, just imagining climbing him and doing other unholy things to him.
He smiled back at me making me feel like I’m melting in my spot, or maybe it’s the fever, I was pretty sure it’s the fever doing all of this to me, although I’m feeling a lot better, the pain have stopped. I’m not shivering as badly as I was earlier.
“Then you also know about her lost mate,” Mom says still sitting next to me, keeping some arms around me, I started to have my doubts she’s holding me back so I won’t attack the uncle.
“He’s not lost, Victoria, nice meeting you by the way,” the uncle says.
“Nice meeting you too, hoped it would’ve been in better terms.” Mom answers him with a smile on her, I wanted to beat her up, why she smiling at my uncle, she got her own wolf.
“I’m…” he starts but then Wolf acted quickly, placing a hand over his mouth and dragging him away, I felt my heart drop, why did he take my uncle away.
“Uncle,” I call after him, feeling like my heart was broken when he left, mom kept on rubbing my shoulder, helping me calm down a little while they left for the next year or so, it felt like it’s been years before they came back into the room. Wolf called my mom out next leaving me with my uncle, I didn’t mind staying with him, my heart was fill with joy after seeing him:
“Hai Uncle.” I say in a slurry voice, the damn fever.
“Hey, do you mind if I sit down?” he asks me and I shook my head no. so he takes a scat right next to me
“You’re pretty,” I say, touching his face, he had just the slightest stubble beard covering his chin
“You can touch,” he assures me and I smiled kept on touching his whole face making sure he’s real.
“You’re Lotus right?” he asks and I nod.
“And you’re uncle,” I say making his smile drop.
“I’m not blood related to you.” he says with a frown.
“You’re wolf’s brother which make you uncle.” I say hugging him.
“I’m your step–uncle if anything,” he says with a shrug, letting me hug him, his hand going behind my back, petting it.
“What’s your name?” I ask, knowing they’ve mentioned it but can’t
remember, or maybe I just wanna hear him say it.
“Damian. I’m Damian and you’re my little flower,” he says making me damn blush, how could I get any redder with the fever that’s taking hold on me.
“Stop it.” I say but I didn’t want him to stop he better keep going.
“You were in the party last night, but I didn’t get the chance to meet you, and today you fell ill before I had the chance,” he says in a sad
voice.
“We met now,” I say.
“But I’m sorry for being late, and you getting sick,” he says.
“It’s not your fault, it’s my damn mate, I’m going to curse him you know?” I tell him with a goofy smile.
“Curse him? What did the poor soul do to you?” Uncle asks me.
“I’m gonna curse him and his bloodline,” I say, giggling.
“The whole bloodline, girl are you mad at your mate, what did they do to you?” he asks me.
“I don’t wanna be a mate, and still I got a stinky mark on my back and now I’m sick, I curse it, and curse it’s bloodline,” I repeat making him frown even more.
“How about I make us/some tea? It should help with your fever and we’ll talk some more about your damned mate,” he says with a sigh, he didn’t wait for my answer he got up right away, and left not giving me a chance to object, my favourite hobby, objecting.

I dropped back on the pillow with a whine, why did that bitchy of a mate had to mark me, if I wasn’t sick I would have met my uncle and spent some time without the feeling of looming death.
“Here you go little Lotus, get up.” he says pulling me up and handing me a mug of hot tea, I took a sip and nodded approving of it, and the nickname.
“You like it?” he asks me.

“Wolf is nice, Beta said not to yell at him anymore.” I inform uncle.
“Yes, you shouldn’t yell or be mean to him,” he says.

“You and the beta are good friends?” he asks me and I nod.
“What’s your favourite color?” he asks all of the sudden.
“Pink and yours?” I ask him.
“Green is mine, my favourite animal is cats,” he says.

“Come on, it’s time to sleep flower, you’ll feel much better in the morning.” he promises me, taking the mug out of my hand, pushing me down on the bed so I could sleep, he even covered me with. y blanket, and kissed the top of my head.
He stayed in my room while I started to fall asleep, it must be weird having him here, but I was sure mom
