“I already had one, maybe we can get a drink on our way to work, are you ready to go?” He asks me, and I nod getting my bag, giving my little sister a quick kiss on the cheek and then leaving with him.
We got our drink on the way, a sugary caffeinated drink that I really enjoyed, it’s one of the best treats of the day for me, we got to work, I took a seat behind my desk and waited for my long day to start.
We had the usual clients along with random walk–ins, influencers who’d just come in for the day to make a video about training with a wolf, it’s a stupid concept if you ask me, but they loved doing so and they paid extra for it, which was good for business in the owners book.
I was trying to giggle along with Kristina, she said that she made it her life mission to get me to giggle again, not smile, she wants me to giggle. “Hello,” I answer the phone, with my trial of giggling, it was Noelle again, she’s probably just calling to check in with me, so I wasn’t thinking too much of it when I answered.

“Where’s my sister?” I ask him.
“Safe,” he answers me
“Then why isn’t she picking her phone?” I ask him my heart, cold sweat, fear.

“What do you want?” I ask him and I knew the exact answer,
“You,” he answers me, the one I was expecting.

“I’m not going back Rex, so you better let my sister go or else,” I warn him, I was threatening my abuser, I’m having a death wish, I’m digging my own grave here.
“Or else what, Mia,” he yells through the phone, I got him irritated and he might take it off on my sister, how stupid was I to say those words while my sister was the one in danger.

It made all the thoughts in my mind to get messed up, the fear had the best of me again, I was so terrified, that I was scared of being scared.. The pack was supposed to keep both me and Noelle safe, they said that they’re going to stay near her, that they’re going to keep someone on her the whole time, that she won’t be alone, that they’ll die for us, but he got Noelle now, and we’re back to being alone.

“Of course,” I assure him, he knows I love my sister, l’in so attached to her, I can’t live without my little sister.
