“I’m sorry Victoria, but you don’t need this job anymore, you’re up on your feet the whole day, and you’re getting exhausted for low tips, quit, I’ll be the one providing for you from now on and if you still want a job, I’d get you a better one,” I assure her, she’s not just quitting, she’s getting something better or she could just stay home and I’ll be the one providing.
“But…but…” she says and tears starts to fall down her face, I felt like the biggest idiot out there, I didn’t want my mate to cry.
“Hey, hey, Viki, don’t cry, please,” I begged her, I felt like shit.
“I need to provide,” she says, provide? Didn’t get the point that I make a lot more than she ever does, and I’ll be providing for her.

“Then who is it? Tell me, what’s wrong? I’ll fix it,” I assure her.
“I have a daughter,” she says sobbing.
“A daughter?” I say my face turning from worry to a smile, a daughter, I loved kids.
“Yeah, my daughter,” she says still crying.
“How old is she?” I ask excitedly, but then follow up with the next question, “Do you live with her father?” I ask her.

“She’s sixteen, I had her when I was young, her dad is out of the picture,” she says quickly and I sighed happily.
“A teenager daughter, you’re getting more exciting by the second Victoria,” I say with a big smile, she looked at me and finally stopped crying, I don’t mind the daughter, so no need to cry anymore.
“You don’t mind?” she asks me.
“I’ll love her like my own, I promise,” I promised her meaning every word I said.
“She’s a sassy little thing,” Viki warns me.
“I like sassy,” I say not knowing what I’m walking into.
“She’s gonna give you hell,” she says giggling.
“I can’t wait to meet her, let’s go meet her,” I say standing up, but she told me to sit again.
“What?” I say confused, I wanna meet my new daughter.
“She’s delicate, I need to talk things to her slowly, we can’t just throw it on her,” she says and I just nod, sixteen is an awkward age, she needs some heads up first.
“Fine, does that mean, you’re not going home with me tonight?” I say pouting, I wanted to hold her while I sleep tonight.
“No, but I don’t work anymore, we can stay together until my shifts end,” she says and I nod agreeing with her, this was the beginning of a great thing.

“She doesn’t,” she assures me but we both knew the daughter hates me.
“She calls me wolf,” I whined.
“Yes, take it as a compliment, you’re one hell of a wolf,” she says making it up for me, kissing my chin.
“Talking to her feels like I have a little sister who hates me, and we’re competing for mom’s love,” I groaned, every word I say, she has something in return, we haven’t shared two full sentences without her teasing me or trying to offend me.
“Well, it’s kind of a competition in her head, you’re trying to steal her mother, and she’s scared of wolves,” she reminds me, the only reason I haven’t shown her who’s the boss yet, the only reason I haven’t kicked her ass for being so rude to me, she’s scared of wolves.
“That’s the only reason why I haven’t kicked her ass yet,” I say with a growl, and then I saw my mate eyes changes, she’s human but since we mated, she’s showing a bit of wolf inside of her.
“Don’t you dare talk like that about my baby,” she warns me.
“Victoria,” I warn her in a growl.
“She’s a baby! My baby! I won’t allow you to be mean to her, not ever,” she says.
“Fine, she’s your baby, she needs to learn how to hold her tongue,” I say getting angry.
“What? Your emotions just got hurt by a little baby? The big bad wolf can’t take some teenager teasing?” she says, teasing me the same way her daughter does, now I know where that girl got her sense of
humour.
