Cara’s POV
I glanced at Lucy, ever–poised and condescending, and smiled softly: “Yes, I really did
Andy let out a sharp, barking laugh.
“That’s wild. My bro here–Arthur–also stopped school at sixteen. But not because he was a dropout. He made history at Wolf Combat University–earned two master’s degrees before his seventeenth birthday. A true prodigy. And you? No high school diploma, huh?”
His words cut like a blade,
Lucy stood tall, reveling in it.
None of them saw me as worthy.
Arthur stood at the end of the corridor, tall and distant, the overhead lights casting sharp
shadows across his aristocratic features. He looked at me.
Three years, I’d been the woman circling his world. A housewife. No higher education. It
wasn’t surprising.
But to his surprise… I didn’t look humiliated. I didn’t shrink back.
My clear, luminous eyes met his. Calm: Steady:
And then I smiled–light, effortless.
“Yeah. What a coincidence.”
What a coincidence.

His heart skipped. Just once.
Arthur suddenly realized–my eyes were beautiful. Not just pretty, Alive. Intelligent,
Almost… defiant.
“Cara!” Cathy burst in, storming down the corridor with fire in her eyes. Her gaze zeroed in
on Lucy. “Lucy, are you picking on her again?”
Lucy lifted her chin, full of grace and self–righteousness. “Not at all. We were trying to help
her. Even offered her a job.”
Cathy blinked. “You… what?”
Lucy beamed with faux kindness. “Of course. Cara may not have a degree or credentials, but we’ll do our best to find her something appropriate.”
Cathy just stared for a moment. Then snorted in disbelief.
“You people… have no idea who you’re dealing with. Cara is–”
I gently reached out and pulled her back.
“Cathy. Let’s go.”
She bit her tongue, but not before throwing Lucy a withering look.
“One day, this will come back to bite you.”
And with that, we walked away–shoulders straight, heads high.
Third POV
Andy scowled. “What the hell is wrong with her? If I had dropped out at sixteen, I’d hide my
face in the mud, not go strutting around like I’m somebody.”
Lucy wasn’t angry.
To her, I had never even qualified as a rival. Getting mad at me would’ve been beneath her.

She turned to Andy with a cool smile.
“Let it go. The ignorant fear nothing.”
Andy sheered. “Bro, just sign the damn divorce already. She’s so far beneath you it’s
insulting.”
Arthur’s face remained unreadable.
He glanced sideways at Lucy. “Let’s go.”
She nodded. “Okay.”
The three of them turned and walked out.
Outside the bar, a voice rang out.
“Arthur?!”
Arthur looked up–and raised his brows in surprise.
It was someone he knew.
“Principal Mortimer?”
He stepped forward immediately.
Mortimer, the headmaster of the world–renowned Wolf Combat University, greeted him
with a warm smile.
“Arthur! I’m in the coastal city for a seminar. What luck running into you. Your little junior
is here too.”
Arthur paused. “Little junior?”
Mortimer laughed.
“Yes, yes. Our university has birthed only two legends. The first–you. The second? Your

junior. Just like you, she earned dual master’s degrees at sixteen. A genius–level intellect. Unfortunately, you two missed each other by a few years–you wouldn’t have met.”
Andy practically vibrated with curiosity.
“Whoa! My bro has a little junior like that? Who’s stronger–her or my bro?”
Mortimer looked at Arthur, then smiled knowingly.
“Evenly matched.”
Arthur’s brows twitched upward.
He’d never met a she–wolf he’d consider his equal… until now.
Lucy stood quietly at his side, stunned.
She’d never heard of Arthur having a junior who could rival him. And while she hadn’t felt threatened by me before, this so–called genius little junior?
Suddenly, Lucy felt something she hadn’t in a long time–unease.
And jealousy.
Who the hell was this little junior?
