David sat on the couch, glancing toward Anna
“Anna, are yousure the miracle healer will treat Lucy?”
Anna smiled confidently,

She didn’t notice Edward’s odd expression.
He forced a smile. “Very… satisfying.”
“Then can you introduce us to the healer?” she asked.
David stepped forward too, eyes filled with hope.
“Dr. Edward, if you can get the healer to treat Lucy, you’ll be well rewarded.”
Edward bowed slightly.
“I bring a message. From the healer herself.”
Anna and David stiffened.
“What message?” Anna asked nervously.
Edward cleared his throat.

“She said–Mrs. Chi can stop wasting her time. Lucy has been permanently blacklisted.”
What?!
Anna’s face turned pale.
“Dr. Edward, there must be some mistake!”
David’s expression went cold.
“Anna…this is your doing? You got Lucy blacklisted?!”
“No! I didn’t–let me explain-”
Anna reached out to grab him, but he flung her off.
She slammed into the wall.

A red welt bloomed on her forehead.
“David…”
He glanced at the pills on the table.
“You don’t need to take those anymore. You won’t be getting the chance.”
And with that, he turned and stormed out.
“David!” she called after him, stunned.
Panicked, she turned to Edward.
“What happened? We had a deal! I gave you Cara! You were supposed to get us the healer!”
But her voice caught in her throat.

A shadow had appeared at the door.
Cara.
She stood there quietly, eyes calm, watching Anna’s panic with no emotion.
Anna froze.
Edward rushed to Cara’s side, groveling.
“Miss Johnson!”
Cara pulled a pen from her pocket and tossed it into the fountain outside.
“I lost my pen.”
“I’ll get it for you!”
Edward bolted out, dove into the freezing water without hesitation, and emerged a moment later, holding the pen like a sacred offering.
“Miss Johnson, I found it!”
Anna stared–like she was seeing a ghost
Cara raised a brow.
“What? Don’t recognize me?”
Anna couldn’t speak. She couldn’t understand what kind of spell Cara had cast over Edward.
Cara stepped closer.
“You’ve stolen my father’s home. His company. You took the daughter he loved most and tried to replace her. You even tainted the wine he left for me.”
She leaned in, voice low and sharp.
