“Zina, let’s head down,” Edward said to Zina beside him as the vehicle slowly pulled into the parking spot. There were waiters outside, ready to greet
them.
Zina glanced at Peaci House and thought of Yannis, who was inside. For a moment, she clutched her bag tightly. ‘Should I go up and see him?‘ Zina was conflicted inside as she wondered.
As she was about to see him, she felt a bit apprehensive. ‘What exactly was my relationship with Yannis? Were we close? If we weren’t, I wouldn’t feel this discomfort in my chest,‘ she thought.
Edward noticed the hesitation in her eyes. “Zina? If you don’t want to go up, we can order a separate table. I’ll come join you once I’m done talking.”
“No, let’s go up,” Zina said, taking a deep breath. ‘I will see him. I need to figure out why,‘ she thought to herself.
She opened the car door, and Edward got out as well. The two of them followed the waiter to the private room.
Inside the private room, Toby was reporting to Yannis. “Mr. Perkins, Mr. Hanover has brought a female companion. It’s probably Ms. Evans.”
Yesterday, Yannis had a low fever. He had been busy with company matters and was exhausted when he got home last night. Toby didn’t want to disturb
him, so he hadn’t told him yet.
This morning, the two of them had gone to the company for a meeting with the R&D department and then rushed over here. Now, Toby finally had the
chance to tell him..
“Okay, you handle the arrangements,” Yannis said, his head down as he dealt with some documents on his laptop. He didn’t pay much attention to the fact that Edward had brought a female companion.
There was a soft knock on the door. “Come in,” Toby called out.
Yannis handed his laptop to Toby and looked out indifferently.
The waiter opened the door, and Edward and Zina were standing outside.
Screech. It was the grating sound of a chair falling over. Yannis stared intently at Zina, who was with Edward.
Zina also spotted him right away. At that moment, in her empty–feeling heart, she actually felt something real.
He was dressed in a black suit and black trousers, with a well–proportioned figure. His broad shoulders and narrow waist were accentuated by the dark suit, which couldn’t hide his cold and aloof demeanor.
His features were strikingly handsome and cold. His sharp cheekbones and sharply defined facial contours made his face angular. His thin lips were pursed tightly. His deep eyes revealed a profound shock,
Zina’s heart felt as if it was being tightly gripped by someone. She clutched her bag tightly and took a step forward involuntarily, but then froze.
Toby was also shocked to see Zina. ‘The person we’ve been searching for so long has suddenly appeared right in front of us?‘ He thought to himself.
Seeing her move, Yannis snapped out of it and strode toward her quickly. His steps were hurried and urgent, as if he wanted to devour her and make her a part of him.
Zina was so scared that she wanted to step back, but she couldn’t move her feet and just stood there rigidly.
Seeing Yannis approaching, Edward stepped forward and blocked him, his tone slightly cold. “Mr. Perkins, don’t scare Zina.”
Edward didn’t object to Yannis seeing Zina, but his current unstable demeanor could potentially hurt her.

“Get out of the way.” Yannis forcefully pulled Edward’s hand aside, his voice stern and cold.
Edward was pushed off balance by the force, but he quickly steadied himself, and his expression darkened. “Mr. Perkins, what do you mean?”
Zina was hidden behind Edward.
“Mr. Hanover, I’m sorry. Please understand. Mr. Perkins has been looking for Ms. Shaw for so long,” Toby quickly intervened, holding Edward back, and
Zina appeared.
Zina’s face showed confusion and complexity as she looked up at Yannis. Before she could say anything, she was pulled into his embrace by a strong force. Yannis held her tightly, as if he wanted to crush her and stuff her into his body.
“Zinnia, you’re finally back.” Yannis‘ voice was hoarse and unlike his usual tone. He held her close, feeling her warm and soft body. Being so near, he could even sense the beating of her heart.
Yannis‘ eyes turned red without him even realizing it. ‘She’s really back. She’s really back,‘ he thought to himself.
Zina was in his embrace, stunned and unsure of how to react. But surprisingly, she didn’t feel any aversion to his hug at all.
Her neck felt damp. A pang of pain rose in Zina’s chest. ‘Did he cry? Were we close before?‘ she wondered.
“Zinnia, can you hug me back?” Yannis‘ voice was tinged with pleading as he rested his cheek against her head. ‘Hug me. I’m afraid this is all just a dream. She hasn’t been in my dreams for so long,‘ he thought.
Zina pursed her lips, then gently wrapped her arms around him.
Edward stood to the side, his expression cold and stern. The look he gave Yannis was as icy as frost.
He knew Zina had lived with Yannis for a while. He also knew that Zina had been adopted by the Jenkins family and that the two had feelings for each
other.
In fact, Edward had even hoped that Yannis could help Zina remember something. But he never expected that Yannis‘ feelings for her would be this deep.
Edward could clearly see that the look in Yannis‘ eyes was definitely not that of a brother. ‘It looks like I’ve made trouble for myself, Edward thought.
“Zina, do you remember anything?” Edward asked from the side.
Both Yannis and Toby felt a tightness in their chests at his words.
“No, can you let me go first?” Zina shook her head. She didn’t mind his hug, but since she hadn’t regained her memory, they were still strangers. Plus, he was holding her too tightly, and it was making her a little uncomfortable.
“Mr. Perkins, would you mind letting go of Zina? You’re making her uncomfortable,” Edward said coldly.
Yannis looked down and saw her furrowed brows. There was no joy of a long–awaited reunion in her eyes, only unfamiliarity and confusion. His eyes were filled with complicated emotions as he slowly released her.
“Zinnia?” Yannis eyes were brimming with worry.
Zina looked into his eyes, which were indeed red from crying. Realizing this, a stabbing pain spread in her chest.
She frowned and thought, ‘Were we close before? He’s crying just from seeing me.’
Her light voice couldn’t hide her apology. “I’m sorry. I don’t remember anything from before,” She was truly, truly sorry. She hadn’t meant to forget everything.
Yannis‘ voice was hoarse. He looked at her, unable to hide the hurt in his eyes. “You forgot everything about us?”
Zina couldn’t bear to look into his wounded eyes. “It’s not just you I’ve forgotten. I’ve forgotten everything about my past.”

Seeing his shattered gaze, Zina felt like she had wronged him deeply. She felt like a terrible person. She felt guilty toward both Lydia and Yannis.
‘She didn’t just forget me. She forgot everything. I can’t blame her,‘ Yannis thought to himself.
“It’s okay. As long as you’re alive.” Yannis closed his eyes for a moment. As long as she was alive, that was enough.
Zina felt a sudden tightness in her chest. “Here, take this. Don’t be sad.”
She opened her purse and took out a beautiful sapphire, handing it to him. Upon seeing him, Zina’s first instinct was to give him the gemstone. She didn’t know why.
