Zinnia popped a lollipop into her mouth and skipped along cheerfully as they stepped out of the basement. “What shall we eat today? the asked.
Yannis carried her backpack in his left hand, a light blue scarf draped over his right arm. With a gentle, affectionate smile, he gazed at Zinnia and asked, “What do you want to eat?”
“I’d love something spicy and pasta,” Zinnia said after a moment’s thought.
“Sure,” Yannis said. “Do we have the ingredients? If not, I’ll have them delivered.”
“Yes, I had them delivered,” Zinnia said. She had been craving pasta since last night. When Yannis said he’d be back in the afternoon, she arranged for the ingredients to be sent over.
She had been waiting for Yannis to come back and cook for her. It wasn’t that other food wasn’t edible, but after being apart for several days, she just craved his cooking and him.
“Alright, we’ll do it as soon as we get back,” Yannis agreed without hesitation. He hadn’t seen her in days, and right now, he just wanted to indulga her every whim.
“Yannis,” Zinnia said as she crunched the candy between her teeth, suddenly turning to look at him, “you know, Lydia agreed to meet that guy.”
“I’ll make the arrangements right away. If all goes well, they can meet as soon as the day after tomorrow,” Yannis said. He wasn’t particularly surprised by the outcome. Having met Lydia a few times, he knew she was a strong–willed and level–headed girl.
“Alright, I’ll let Lydia know in a bit,” Zinnia said.
As they talked, they opened the door and stepped inside. Zinnia bent down to slip off her shoes, while Yannis stood behind her, patiently straightening
them.
Without a care for anything else, Zinnia declared, “I’m having some popcorn. I haven’t had any all week.” She dashed straight to her personal snack cabinet in the living room, which was already packed with all kinds of colorful treats.
Yannis went so far as to set up a company exclusively to make treats for Zinnia. That was why her snack cabinet was always overflowing with all kinds of
delicious snacks made just for her.
Yannis followed behind her and gently reminded, “Just one bag, okay? We’re having dinner soon.”
“Got it,” Zinnia said as she grabbed a bag of popcorn and plopped onto the hanging chair in the living room, swinging her legs. Now that Yannis was back, she didn’t have to worry about anything. All she had to do was eat.
“Here, put this on,” Yannis said softly, draping a blanket over her shoulders.
The living room was warm with the heating on, so it wasn’t cold. But seeing Zinnia in just a thin inner layer, her down jacket carelessly tossed on the sofa, Yannis worried she might catch a chill.
Zinnia shook her head. “Nah, I’ll get it dirty later. I’m not cold anyway.”
If anything stained the blanket, it was basically ruined. Back when Zinnia didn’t know how expensive these were, she thought they were just regular blankets and ended up ruining quite a few.
But after she found out each one cost 30 thousand dollars, she just couldn’t bear to be careless with them anymore.
When Zinnia lived with Nathan in that small town, she had ruined many of these blankets. It made her heart ache just thinking au remembered right, the blankets and towels she used as a kid were made from the same material.

She bet she had ruined thousands of blankets and towels. At 30 thousand dollars apiece, that was nearly hundreds of millions of dallas gone. Th not even counting all the other things she blew through.
After moving to Jinston and staying at Yannis’s place, Zinnia kept coming across things from her childhood. Each one cost a fortune.
If she actually tried to tally up everything she’d wasted over the years, the total would be staggering. She’d never realized just how wealthy Nathan really
was.
Growing up, she never lacked anything–food, drinks, daily necessities, or toys. After she learned that Nathan was the young master of the Moore family,
it all seemed only natural.
“If it gets stained, so what? It’s just a blanket,” Yannis said as he folded it, draped it over her shoulders, and wrapped it around her neck. He gently smoothed out her messy hair so it wouldn’t poke her skin.
Zinnia glanced at the blanket wrapped around her neck, then at Yannis, who was carefully adjusting it for her. She stayed silent. ‘Well, he’s loaded anyway. He doesn’t need to worry about things like this,’ she thought.
Yannis went into the kitchen to cook. Zinnia enjoyed her popcorn, being extra careful not to let any dirt onto the blanket. Even though he didn’t care about the cost, she really couldn’t bear to mess it up after knowing its price,
Zinnia rummaged through her cluttered bag, wanting to fish out her phone to text Lydia. The bag was stuffed with all sorts of random things, making her search a messy affair.
As Zinnia pulled out her phone, a gleaming platinum card from the very bottom of her bag tumbled out as well. She blinked and then she remembered that Nathan had slipped it in there.
Now, thinking of who he really was, she stared at the card in her hand, her lips parting slightly. She thought this card was like a hot potato.
Nathan had always taken care of her. He never let her want anything, especially money. He told her that if she ever ran out, she could just use the money
in this card.
She guessed that there was a lot in there, but she had never even checked, since she had never really needed to.
Holding the platinum card in her hand, Zinnia turned it over thoughtfully. “Maybe I should check the balance someday,” she mused, “Just to see how rich Master really is.”
Ever since she learned about Nathan’s circumstances, any sadness she once felt had long since faded. Now, all she wanted was for Nathan to be safe and
well.
For the past two months, Zinnia hadn’t heard anything from Nathan. Ever since learning the truth about his situation, she thought it was better if he didn’t come back too soon.
Master needed time to settle matters. Zinnia understood that. She wished he could return soon, and she was certain he wanted nothing more than to come back for her.
Zinnia didn’t want Nathan to exhaust himself just to return for her sooner. All she truly wished for was his safety and well–being.
Yannis set down a plate of freshly washed and sliced kiwi. Noticing Zinnia absentmindedly twirling the card between her fingers, lost in thought, he asked gently, “What’s wrong?”
“Yannis, look!” Zinnia said, spreading the platinum/card in her palm. “Master gave me this. I’ve been wondering when to check how much is in it. Just how rich is he, anyway?”
Yannis glanced at the platinum card in her palm and said, “There’s at least 300 million in there. Only accounts with over
card.”
He had one too, given by Devin. Nathan truly doted on her. The card he gave her had a minimum of 300 million.

“Yeah.” Yannis couldn’t deny it. Nathan’s devotion to Zinnia was truly beyond words. From transferring the herb plantation to her name to giving her that card, every gesture was a testament to how much Nathan cherished her. Even some blood relatives couldn’t compare.
Zinnia looked up at Yannis, her eyes full of concern. “Yannis, do you think he is safe right now?”
