I stare at the message in shock and awe. The words do not betray themselves and the sender’s number is one that I faintly
recognize from when I first took the job as Soren’s lover.
…Does he really think that I’ll fall for this all over again?
I refuse to sell my body or my dignity to any man ever again, especially if the person is Soren!
He has treated me like a toy in the past. Just a pastime that comes to him whenever he calls.
Soren only wants me because I look like Bianca. He was never interested in who I was as a person.
a
To him, I was simply a placeholder, someone to pass the time, until his beloved Bianca came back to him. Now that she’s here,
Soren can seek his much needed comfort in her instead of me.
I’m done!
I huff and type a firm ‘No.‘ into the message bar. I send it and shove my phone inside my pocket.
Not even a second later, my phone vibrates inside my pocket. I groan and slip it out from the pocket, looking down at the Beta’s
next message.
[I know life hasn’t been easy on you, Celia. Earning money is nothing to be ashamed of. I can promise you that Soren has better
intentions than before.]
I scoff.
Yeah, right, as if Soren suddenly grew a moral compass.
One would think that the Alpha King would know everything as soon as it happens, such as me leaving for my business trip for the
hospital. So yes, Soren’s Beta, there is no shame in making money, especially when I choose when and where it happens. This trip
will help me reinstate the dignity I once lost when I first met Soren.
Soren’s Beta has nothing to do with that, though. After all, he is a servant for the Alpha King just like I was.
He deserves a good goodbye and respect instead of taking some of the heat from my anger aimed at Soren.
[I appreciate you reaching out. I am going to have to decline, though. I appreciate all of the advice and care that you have given to
me in the past.]

I shut my phone completely off, unable to handle any more incoming messages from the Beta, or anyone for that matter, and make my way back to Healer Anderson’s office to inform him of the registration being complete.
I need to move on and say goodbye to the things that held me back in the past. The past is in the past, I need to grow from it.
Healer Anderson has kept my mind and body busy by allowing me to shadow him in the hospital. We’ve visited plenty of patients and I’ve also managed to impress him some more.
He made one final stop to my grandmother, who is awake and lucid, and he showed me some extra techniques to help her feel better when she is both awake and asleep.
I stayed behind and sat with her for a bit, laughing and smiling. When I turn to leave, one of the nurses pulls me to the side. We stand just outside my grandmother’s room with the door cracked open.
“Your bills, Celia,” the nurse sighed, handing me the paper, “your cheque bounced.”
“I’m sorry…if I could just have some time…I’m doing the job for the hospital so you know that I’ll have the money for you soon,” I
sigh and glance inside the hospital room.
My grandma stares at me with a frown.
I walk back inside and tuck the bills into my bag on the chair. I sit back down and smile at her, taking her hand.
“…Is the money I gave you not enough?” she asks with a saddened frown. “How are you going to afford the loan?”
I avert her gaze, not feeling too keen to answer.
Grand
see my silence, sigh, “Can you promise me one thing? Please take the time to discover yourself. I’ll help you with it, too,
erve to discover who you truly are.”
Grandma,” I sigh and force a smile on my face, “I will.”
an enters the hospital room. He greets my Grandma with a warm smile. He extends out a white invitation. I pull out a card from
the inside.
It’s an invitation to Soren and Bianca’s engagement party. I frown and tuck it into my bag, looking back up at Ethan.
“I heard that some of the Lycan royal family will be in attendance,” Ethan bites his lip. “Could be worth going for that, don’t you
think?”
Bianca’s POV
The arrangement of dresses brings me so much joy. Pure white colors mixed in with more warm creams fill my sight. Every dress
is different and is so unique.

I pluck one from the rack and hold it up to my body, turning to Soren.
He doesn’t even look at me. His attention is on his phone and not on me.

I sigh and walk towards him. I circle around him in the chair and rest my hands on his shoulders, dragging my fingers up his neck
and onto his scalp. I rock my fingers back and forth, Soren grunting under my touch, which makes me smile.
“Does that feel good?” I smile down at him.
He turns his head to look at me but my phone rings.
I hold up a finger to him and rush outside, looking at the caller.
It’s the Lycan pack!
I answer the call and contain an excited giggle.
“Hello?” I hum.
“Bianca?” The voice of the Lycan’s Beta comes from the other line. “We’re sending people to attend your engagement party.‘
“Amazing! Thank you so much! I promise I will do my best to become Healer Anderson’s apprentice and make you all proud!” I
squeal.
The Beta on the other line doesn’t make a sound.
I lean my back against the boutique’s wall.
Originally, my Soren, the Alpha King, was supposed to marry the Lycan princess – Since she disappeared and hasn’t been heard from, the marriage fell into my lap despite me being the daughter of a Lycan Delta.
All of the other families either didn’t have any kids or they only bore sons, so it works out in my favor! I’m just glad that they are sending people to join in the celebration!
“After the last prince eloped with a civilian healer and had a child with her, we got news they were living near a Werewolf pack
with the princess. Maybe we can find them in the nearby area. What do you think?”
“Uh huh, sure. I can ask around. Okay! Bye!” I cheerily hang up the call and groan. I roll my eyes and glance back inside the
boutique where Soren sits.
He looks at his phone, brows furrowed from stress. My poor fiancé…thank goodness I am the only one who can make him feel
better!
Besides, there’s no need for us to find the Lycan princess.
Soren asked me, “Did something happen?”
I replied with a smile, “No, let’s keep trying on dresses for the engagement banquet!”
That’s right–it’s something that can never be found.
