Chapter 16
But Damon had no intention of giving Isabelle another chance.
He had already betrayed Ariel too many times.
If there was even the slightest hope of getting her back, then the pup could
not be allowed to live.
Once it was born, any possibility of reconciliation would vanish completely.
With his mind made up, Damon ordered the warriors to drag Isabelle to the
hospital.
She fought with everything she had, kicking and screaming, but was
ultimately carried off like a helpless chick and thrown onto the cold, sterile
operating table.
At Damon’s command, the procedure was performed without anesthesia.
In excruciating pain, Isabelle’s stomach was cut open. The nearly–formed pup
was removed.

“Aaah!”
Her scream echoed through the sterile room before she passed out.
When she woke, her womb was hollow.
Pain gripped her, making even the smallest movement feel unbearable.
Her little wolf pup… was truly gone.
She lay in the hospital bed, utterly broken, guarded by warriors ensuring she
recorded her apology to Ariel.
Before long, Damon saw the apology video posted across every network.
He tugged at the corner of his lips in a hollow smile–but there was no joy in it.
What good was an apology?
It couldn’t bring back his Ariel.
He still hadn’t found her. It was as if she’d vanished into thin air–like she never

existed.
If not for the traces of her online, Damon might’ve believed she’d only been a
dream.
If I hadn’t gone to see Isabelle that day… If I’d resisted her temptation… If only…
Damon sat in a clearing in the forest, downing bottle after bottle of liquor in
bitter regret.
He hadn’t slept well in ages.
The scent of Ariel at home was fading–so much that it was almost
unbearable to stay there.
Yet no amount of alcohol could dull the sharp ache in his heart. In fact, it only
made him more painfully aware of her absence.
“Heh…”
He held a bottle to his chest and let out a bitter laugh.

“Ariel, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be drinking. You always hated how I smelled after I
drank… Please, come out. Yell at me, anything. Just show yourself, and I’ll
never touch alcohol again.”
He mumbled like a child, clinging to foolish hope.
His childhood friends sat nearby, watching in helpless silence.
One finally sighed.
“Alpha, punishing Isabelle is one thing… but you really killed your own pup. Do
you love Ariel that much?”
“Ariel’s just a pretty face. With your status, you could have any she–wolf your
want.”
“She left? Let her go. Show her you can live just fine without her, with even
better women by your side. That’s how you make her crawl back.”
“Exactly. If all else fails, just find some who look like her. Teach them to act like
her–it’s practically the same thing!”

Their casual words were meant to comfort–but all they did was ignite
Damon’s fury.
He gave control to his wolf.
In a blur of motion, razor–sharp claws struck their chests one after another.
Despite the alcohol, his strikes were swift and ruthless, landing with brutal
precision.
Those who tried to intervene were left bruised and battered.
Within moments, they were all on the ground, groaning in pain.
Damon shifted back into his human form, eyes blazing.

“Ariel is my life. Say one more word against her–and I’ll bury your whole damn
bloodline!”
His roar shook the clearing.

The air turned heavy. No one dared move.
They had never seen their Alpha this enraged.
Even the boldest among them shrank back like frightened pups.
Only after a long silence did the tension ease. Damon drank again, and the
others slowly dared to breathe.
But on the outskirts of the forest, a bitter beta warrior quietly issued orders to
his subordinate,
“You see that?” he muttered coldly, holding up a photo of Ariel on his phone.
“Find me someone who looks like her. The more she resembles her, the better.
Bring her here. Now.”
Not long after, a young Omega with a faint resemblance to Ariel was brought
to the camp.
“Um… excuse me… Did someone here call for me?”

She approached nervously, soft–voiced and wary.
The beta was surprised–she really did look somewhat like Ariel. Just younger.
Softer.
With a nod, he motioned for her to go to Damon.
He smiled smugly, certain Damon wouldn’t turn her away.
“Sir
Are you the one who asked for me?”
The girl stood before Damon, her voice barely a whisper.
