Lily’s response was followed by an unexpected smile.
The werewolf doctor hesitated before advising her once more, The wolfsbane in your system has entered your bloodstream, but if you seek proper treatment, you might be able to extend your life.”
Lily shook her head without a second thought. That won’t be necessary. I’ve been waiting for death every day. I probably have a month left. When the time comes, I’ll inform the hospital. Please use my wolf fangs to help others. Thank you.”
With a faint smile, she rose and left.
The doctor watched her in stunned silence. He had never encountered a patient so willing to embrace death.
As soon as Lily stepped outside, her phone rang. It was Michael.
His voice was cold. “Where were you during your sick leave today?”
Lily gripped her phone tighter but didn’t tell the truth. “Just a minor cold”
Clearly, he wasn’t concerned. “Southbrook Club, Room 314.”
Without hesitation, Lily hurried over
Inside the private room, several Alphas from different wolf packs sat together–each one equal in status to Michael.
She immediately understood it was an important social gathering where failure couldn’t be made.
“Lily is here! I’ve heard a lot about you. They say you hold your liquor well. Is that true?
“Word is you’ve closed many deals through drinking. Let us witness it.
“There are 99 glasses of wine on this table. If you finish them all our partnership with the Bluemoon Pack is sealed tonight.”
Seated on the couch, Michael glanced at her with a meaningful smile and casually remarked, “Don’t disappoint me.”
Lily met their expectant gazes and didn’t hesitate.
She picked up a glass, smiling. “Alright.”
One drink after another, the alcohol burned as it coursed through her.
For someone already poisoned by wolfsbane, drinking only worsened her condition. Alcohol merged with the poison in her blood, accelerating its damage.
Her werewolf healing couldn’t keep up, and the pain was agonizing–ten times worse than before.
Lily’s face turned pale, and her hands trembled. But she kept drinking.
Michael, from start to finish, merely watched with an indifferent gaze.
Finally, against all expectations, she finished all 99 glasses.
The room erupted into applause. “Incredible! Truly impressive!”
Sweat beaded on Lily’s forehead, but she forced a smile.
One of the Alphas took an interest in her. “Lily, Michael seems relentless with you. He shows no mercy–even to a woman.

Our Westwind Pack treats female werewolves well. Are you interested in joining us?”

Westwind Pack was known for its strength and dominance. Their Alpha was one of the few who was bold enough to recruit talent right on the spot.
Lily smiled politely and declined in a low voice. Thank you, but the Bluemoon Pack and Alpha Michael are good to me.”
“I’ll increase your pay tenfold.”
It was a tempting offer–one that would make anyone hesitate.
In the fast–evolving werewolf society, many werewolves chose to leave their packs for better opportunities, hoping to be rewarded and appreciated for their skills on a larger platform.
However, Lily stood firm in her decision and shook her head.
Everyone was curious. “Why?”
Lily’s smile faded. T’m Alpha Michael’s assistant.”
“You’re an impressive person. Alpha Michael is lucky to have you,” said the Alpha of the Westwind Pack, raising his glass to her, then dropping the subject
Eventually, the cooperation between the Bluemoon and Westwind Packs was successfully finalized, and the event began to wind down as evening set in.
The driver arrived to pick them up, and Lily took the passenger seat while Michael settled in the back. Michael didn’t like sitting next to her.
The car made a stop at a small wooden house near the Bluemoon Pack, which had been assigned to Lily.
She thanked the driver quietly before stepping out, too exhausted to notice Michael following behind her.
He observed her unsteady steps, his dark gaze growing more intense.
Lily remained unaware until she reached her door, searching for her keys.
Suddenly, her wrist was grabbed, and she was spun around and slammed against the wall
Before she could react, Michael kissed her–forceful and lingering almost making it hard for her to breathe.
Finally, he pulled away.
Though it was Michael who initiated the kiss, his eyes were red, his voice shaking as he spoke, “You always act so fragile. Do you want me to feel sorry for you? Why didn’t you leave when everyone else invited you? Lily, why are you still here?”
Lily struggled to catch her breath, trying to steady herself. “I want to stay… to atone.”
Her answer only fueled Michael’s anger. He punched the wall in frustration, his eyes full of hatred as he spat, “Then why don’t you just die? Go diel
Lily forced a bitter smile. Maybe it would be easier that way–she was already close to death.
Before she could respond, Michael’s phone rang. Her gaze dropped to the screen, seeing Melanie’s name.
Melanie–Michael’s chosen mate, but not the one approved by the Moon Goddess.
Michael’s breathing steadied as he turned his back to compose himself.
He answered the call in a soft, gentle tone, slipping back into the Alpha persona he usually wore. “Hello, Melanie.”
After he heard something from the other side, his expression shifted. He released Lily without a word and walked away.

Leaning against the wall, Lily watched him disappear, unable to hold back any longer. She stumbled into the bathroom, where she collapsed, violently vomiting.
She continued until she felt dizzy, finally looking up to see the toilet filled with blood–dark, tainted by wolfsbane.
Numbly, she flushed the toilet and tried to rise, but the exhaustion overwhelmed her, and she passed out.
In her dreams, she found herself back at the werewolf training camp in her youth. Under the plane tree, she walked with Michael and Jessica.
Jessica tugged on her arm, playfully saying, “Lily, there’s a party this weekend with handsome wolves from other packs. Will you go with me?”
Michael’s expression darkened, and he pulled Lily closer. Jessica, I didn’t agree to lend you my girlfriend”
“You’re so stingy!”
Those days were full of joy.
Lily had been an orphan for as long as she could remember. While attending the werewolf training camp for teenagers in the Werewolf Alliance, she met Jessica, a member of the Bluemoon Pack, and they became close friends.
Michael. Jessica’s elder brother, was the son of the Bluemoon Pack’s Alpha and a top–ranking warrior in the camp.
He was popular, and nearly every female werewolf there had fantasies about him. At first, Lily didn’t even dare to speak to him.
But he always seemed to be around–helping her with study notes, training alongside her, and even driving her home.
One night, after she was punished, he waited for her and walked her home.
Even though her house was nearby, the walk felt long. As they neared her door, Lily asked, “Michael, are you being nice to me because of Jessica?”
He pressed her against a tree with an unpleasant look. “No. It’s because you’re my mate!”
Lily’s face flushed. She hadn’t yet shifted into her wolf form, so she wasn’t sure if he was her mate. “But
Before she could finish, he grabbed her head and kissed her.
That night, when the clock struck midnight, Lily finally turned 18. Her wolf confirmed that Michael was her mate.
As an orphan, she felt lucky to have found a mate in the man she secretly admired.
Five years ago, after Michael graduated and became the Alpha of the Bluemoon Pack, Lily joined the pack. On Harvest Day, he planned to announce her as the Luna of Bluemoon.
Lily and Jessica had gone out for a singles night.
It was late when they passed a small grove outside the pack and were surrounded by a group of Rogues.
The Rogues, with their sharp fangs bared, closed in on them.
Both girls were young and had never been in a fight before, shaking with fear. Jessica fought back as best as she could, yelling. Lily, run!”
Lily knew they stood no chance against the Rogues, so she fled.
She quickly found some werewolf warriors on patrol and led them back to save Jessica.
But when they arrived, the place was eerily quiet, and the Rogues were gone.

Jessica lay on the ground, blood covering her. She had been brutally raped multiple times and was no longer breathing.
When Michael arrived, he found the horrific sight of his sister’s body.
In shock, he grabbed Lily’s hand, his voice filled with pain and despair. “Why did you run away? Why leave her behind? Lily, why did you do that?”
Lily couldn’t respond, her self–hatred overwhelming.
“I hate you, Lily! How could someone like you be the Luna of the Bluemoon Pack?”
Michael’s eyes blazed with anger as he slowly declared, “Moon Goddess, I, Michael, Alpha of Bluemoon Pack, refuse to accept Lily as my mate!”
The rejection sent a wave of pain through Lily’s body, and she collapsed.
Her heart shattered as she realized she had lost her best friend and had become the enemy of the man she loved.
Now, poisoned by wolfsbane and dying, she felt it was almost a blessing.
Soon, she would be able to apologize to Jessica in the afterlife.
And Michael would finally be free of her
