Elena’s POV
I settled with both. I was going to meet Charlotte and attend the wedding with Damien. Without wasting anymore time, I hurried upstairs to have a quici bath. Damien was lying on the king–sized bed nonchalantly. His eyes were fixated on the screen of his phone and he was excellent in pretending like I had not just walked past him with a towel wrapped around my waist.
“When do I get to have my room back?” I snapped at him.
“If you are not comfortable sharing a room with me then you can clean one of the guests room and have it all to yourself” Damien said in a calm tone yet deadly.
I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him.
“That sounds exactly like what I did the last time and guess who now mother.” I pointed out.

I felt like just his eyes alone could make the towel slip off my body. I clutched the towel tight and shot dagger glares at me,
“Are you trying to pick up a fight with me?” Damien snapped

“Wow, you must think so highly of yourself. What would fighting with you benefit me except another set of rules and restrictions.” I fired back at him.
Damien nodded his head in agreement.
“I am glad you know that.” He muttered.
Damien rose to his feet and slowly began to walk towards the entrance door. He halted in his steps for a brief moment before turning around to gaze at

“I will ask a cleaner to stop by at the house today and make sure the other guest rooms are neatly cleaned.” He said pushing the door open and stepping
out of the room.
I stuck my tongue out and shoved the middle finger in his direction/What a jerk, always wanting to have the last laugh. I hastily changed into a nice floral dress and packed my hair into a neat bun. I gazed at the wall clock and figured it was only thirty minutes left before my appointment with Charlotte.
Before wasting anymore time, I grabbed my phone and tried to sneak out of the house but I suddenly heard a familiar annoying feminine voice yell loudly.
“Where do you think you are headed to?” She snapped at me.
I turned around to gaze at Damien’s mother. I almost forgot about her presence for a brief moment. I noticed she was equally dressed in a fancy outfit which made me wonder if she was actually attending the wedding as well.
“There is food in the kitchen mother.” I said raising my hand in mock surrender.
“You are following us to the wedding and we will be leaving in an hour’s time so where do you think you are headed to?” Damien’s m utter disdain.
It was amusing how she never for, once tried to hide the fact that she hated my guts.
I was about to reply but Damien stepped out of nowhere, backing his mother up.
“You do not plan on running away, do you?” Damien questioned.

“Of course not.” I choked out a hysteric laughter and waved it off.
“I just needed to grab something quick to eat.” I said with a slight shrug.
Damien eyed me in suspicion while his mother’s gaze remained one of irritation.
“Does she really have to follow us to wedding?” Damien’s mother groaned in frustration, sneaking a glance from her son to seek approval.
“Honestly, for the first time in my life, I will have to agree with you mother. Do I really have to go?” I asked equally glancing at Damien,
Damien cleared his throat to speak in a very stern tone.
“Elena is my wife and she has to be everywhere that I am.” Damien said.
“I mean Vanessa will be there and she can play a good role as your wife.” His mother suggested.
I wanted to throw up at how Vanessa had managed to pop up in our conversation. I could not even pick who I hated the most between her and Charlotte.
I most likely had the same level of hate for them, after all they were alike in so many ways.
“The media will be there so Elena needs to be there. You can go out to grab some food but be back before 9am.” Damien ordered.
“Why? You said we would be leaving by 9:30am?” I raised a brow at him in confusion.
“Plans have changed.” Damien responded with a straight face.
Oh shit! I was screwed unless I would be quick enough to get the phone from Charlotte and head back home on time.
“Judging by the look of your face, it seems like you had different plans other than going out to grab breakfast?” Damien questioned.
I shook my head in disagreement. “Of course not.”
“Well, I would advice you to dead whatever thoughts you have in mind.” Damien said and with that, he turned around and walked away.
His mother scoffed at me before making her way to the kitchen.
Without wasting anymore time, I rushed out of the house and hastily boarded a taxi to the same restaurant I and Charlotte had met. I eventually arrived at the restaurant ten minutes earlier than our agreed time.
I sat besides the window, impatiently waiting for Charlotte. I tried dialing her number several times but it kept redirecting me to voice mail.
I rubbed my temple in frustration as I realized that it was a few minutes past nine already yet I had not even caught a single glimpse of Charlotte.
My heart began to race extremely fast as I thought whether to return back home or continue to waste my precious time waiting for her. Seriously though, what was taking her long?
My phone’s ringing tone blared out loud, I gazed at the caller ID and saw it was Damien calling me.
