Billionaire’s Secret 6

Chapter 6

Brandon froze in place.

What did he just hear?

“A bracelet made from that little brat’s bones”… “smashed by Bianca”… wasn’t that exactly what happened yesterday?

The image of me kneeling on the ground, tears streaming down my face as I gathered the shattered remains, flashed through his mind.

A stabbing pain hit his chest.

He barked at his assistant immediately.

“Find out if Bella’s body was cremated intact-right now!”

Minutes later, the assistant called back, his voice grim.

“Mr. Whitmore,” the assistant said gravely, “I spoke with the funeral home staff. Mrs. Sinclair wasn’t lying.”

“They said some people claiming to be from Ms. Sterling’s side demanded to take out the child’s ribs-to make a bracelet for her son. Bella’s body was reportedly left in a horrific state. Mrs. Sinclair probably had the remains cremated early to

prevent them from doing anything worse…”

“Bastards!” Brandon slammed his fist on the table in fury. “Who the hell does Bianca think she is? Without my permission,

how dare they touch my daughter’s body?!”

The assistant hesitated before adding carefully,

“Sir… the staff said they called you. It was you who told them to let Ms. Sterling do whatever she wanted…”

Brandon was left speechless.

He remembered Bianca telling him she wanted to visit Bella in private.

She’d said it was only fair-after all, it was Caleb’s carelessness that led to the tragedy. As his mother, she just wanted to

apologize to Bella’s remains. She only kept it quiet because she was afraid I would refuse.

So when the funeral home called, Brandon-thinking I was being unreasonable again-cut them off and gave the green

light.

But now… he realized I hadn’t lied.

The bracelet really had been made from Bella’s ribs.

Brandon had to admit-he had always favored Caleb over Bella.

It was because Bella was my child, and Caleb, as an illegitimate son, would always be looked down upon. He wanted to

protect him more to make up for it.

But he’d never meant for Bella’s body to be desecrated like this. He never wanted her to die without peace,

I loved Bella so deeply. The pain I felt-Brandon could barely imagine. Yet when I needed him most, he had stood by another woman… and even called me a liar.

Then his mother called, her voice full of contempt for me.

“Brandon, Bianca told me what happened this morning. If Ava’s gone, then let her go. A hen that can’t lay eggs-what good is she anyway? I only ever tolerated her because her family was useful to you.”

“Now her whole family’s dead, she’s worthless. Good thing I had the foresight to find someone like Bianca-beautiful, smart, and she gave you a son! If you ask me, just marry her already.”

Bianca sure knew how to play the game-apologizing on one hand, and using his mother to pressure him on the other.

How had he ever thought she was kind and gentle?

After a long silence, Brandon spoke quietly,

“Mom, when you first brought Bianca into my life, I gave in-for your sake. Because you wanted a grandson. But do you know how much I hated you for that?”

“No mother who truly loves her son would push a mistress into his marriage and force him to divorce the woman he loves.”

“You’ll never understand the lengths I went to, just to give you the life you wanted. But your soul’s already been buried in that coffin labeled ‘family lineage.’ You’ve trapped yourself… and you’ve ruined my life too.”

“Tomorrow, I’ll have someone send you back to hometown. You’ll get your monthly allowance on time. But while we’re both still alive, let’s not see each other again.”

With that, he hung up without hesitation.

Then Brandon went back upstairs and knocked on the door.

Bianca hadn’t noticed anything was wrong. She leaned into his arms with a sweet smile.

“Brandon, still no sign of her? But don’t blame Ava too harshly. Maybe Bella’s death just hit her too hard. She could be mentally unstable right now.”

“Bella was such a sweet girl-I always liked her, you know…”

The moment the words left her mouth, Brandon grabbed her throat. His voice was cold as ice,

“Is that what you call liking her? Calling my daughter a filthy little brat behind my back? Stealing her ribs to make a bracelet for your son?!”
