Chapter 29
“Yasmine?” Cheryl called, her voice tinged with worry. She felt it was unfair to Yasmine.
Yasmine snapped back to reality and gave a faint “Mm,” then added, “That’s not bad.”
“Not bad? Are you seriously going to let this slide?” Cheryl exploded.
Yasmine sensed Cheryl’s anger but remained unfazed. “What do you want me to do? Crash their engagement party and announce, ‘Hey, I’m Sebastian’s secret ex–wife. He was cheating while I was in the hospital getting an abortion?‘ Cheryl, I don’t want to embarrass myself.”
Cheryl was furious. “Are you kidding me? Instead of exposing that cheating bastard and his mistress, you’re just going to sit back? How do these terrible people always get away with everything? I can’t stand it!”
After a beat of silence, she said, “If you won’t

thoughts raced until one word escaped her mo.”
‘That jerk really pulled off a smooth move. We haven’t finalized the divorce yet, and he’s already rushing to marry Ashley?” she thought, rage burning through her veins like fire.
Suddenly determined, she dropped the calm facade and hit redial. “Cheryl, I’m taking Sebastian down!”
Yasmine was the reason Zimmerman group had risen from the brink of collapse three years ago. The company’s entire revenue bore her strategic fingerprints. Even after some soul–searching, she still couldn’t stand letting three years of hard work become someone else’s trophy.
Cheryl burst out laughing. “This is the Guzman princess I know! Who just rolls over without fighting back? I’m totally on board, Yasmine.”
After a quick chat, Yasmine hung up and started plotting her next move.
Meanwhile, the Guzman family also saw the trending topic and quickly held an emergency family meeting.
Hayden sneered, “Engagement? More like a funeral.”
Quiana smirked, “I just got a new gig, and there’s this killer role for a manipulative actress that’s still open. Ashley would totally nail it. Plus, the script’s got some scenes where she gets totally beat up.”
Jeffrey chuckled. “Zimmerman Group’s stock is riding high. Let’s bring it crashing down–consider it our engagement gift.”
Ronald looked at his kids. “When did we turn into such troublemakers?”
Sofia, usually so calm, suddenly snapped, “You want Yasmine to go through all that for nothing?”
“That’s not what I meant. I was just thinking, in a society that follows the rules…” Ronald murmured, looking embarrassed.
Jeffrey stroked his chin. “Yeah, we should probably have some people in place at the right spots.”
Ronald paused for a while and then gave in. Since things had come to this point, he decided to speak his mind. “Enough talk! Where’s the plan? My fists have been itching to go!” he said.
The rest of the Guzmans nodded in agreement.
After a brief discussion, Sofia grew concerned. “Yasmine must have seen the news. Is she doing okay? She’s still recovering from childbirth. The last thing we need is for her to get too worked up–that could leave her with health issues later on.”

Quiana frowned slightly. “I think the most important thing right now is to calm Yasmine down.”
Just then, Yasmine pushed open the door and walked in.
An awkward silence fell. Everyone exchanged glances quietly.
“Winter’s coming,” Yasmine declared, “and it’s time for the Zimmerman family to fall,”
