Betrayed 15

Chapter 15

Bianca wiped away her tears with a trembling hand. “You will never get her back. Even if she returns tomorrow, she wouldn’t want you.”

Her words hung in the cold corridor like frost.

Jason’s shoulders twitched, then his head

jerked towards her, his eyes dark and hollow, the sleepless nights and empty bottles extinguishing his spirit.

“You think she won’t come back?” he rasped, stepping towards her, causing her to shrink back involuntarily. “She will. I’ll make her come back. She belongs to me; she has always been my destined mate.”

Bianca let out a hollow laugh, which broke halfway through. “You’re delusional-”

His hand lashed out abruptly, the crack echoing like a gunshot in the hallway.

Bianca staggered, a choking sob escaping her throat.

“She is my wolf’s chosen,” he roared, his chest heaving wildly. “I will never let go.”

Before she could retaliate, a small voice broke the heavy silence.

“Mom?”

Both Jason and Bianca turned around.

At the top of the staircase, Robert stood in his

pajamas, barefoot, his eyes wide and wet, a stuffed bear dangling from his tiny fist.

“Are you fighting again?” Robert’s lower lip trembled. “Did I do something wrong?”

Bianca hurried to his side, enveloping his trembling body in her arms.

“It’s okay, baby, it’s okay-Mommy’s here. Mommy’s here-”

She shot Jason a look that could freeze blood.

“Look at what you’ve done to him!”

But Jason’s gaze didn’t linger.

He ran his fingers through his hair, his jaw clenched tightly as if his teeth might shatter.

He stormed down the hallway, snatched his phone, and slammed the door behind him as he entered the office, still haunted by Bella’s ghost.

Her scent had long faded, but the memories lingered like bruises.

He dialed the private investigator’s number, one he had called countless times.

“Where is she?” His voice was hoarse, his wolf pacing behind the desk. “Where the hell is Bella? Why haven’t you found her yet?”

The detective sighed on the other end. “Alpha Jason, we’ve done everything we can. She… it’s like she never existed. No travel records, no medical bills, no bank activity-not even her father’s medical records remain. It’s as if she

evaporated.”

“Keep searching,” Jason growled. “I don’t care what it costs. Find her.”

He hung up, his pulse pounding in his ears.

But now, he had nothing left to give, no leverage, no illusion of control to cling to.

So, when his grandfather called later that week, he was not surprised.

Old Alpha’s voice was as cold as steel.

“Do you want to reclaim your rightful place at

the center of the Blackstone Pack, Jason? Do you want your Alpha title and inheritance?”

“I do!” Jason snapped. “Of course, I do.”

“Then you must do two things,” his grandfather cut in, each word as sharp as a blade. “Cut ties with that woman, Bianca, and that pup. Admit your wrongs with the Iron Wolf Pack, return it to Bella, and make amends.”

Jason’s tongue felt like sandpaper, his wolf ready to roar but restrained.

He hesitated for a moment, but now, there was

nothing to rely on.

No pride, no loyalty.

“Fine,” he wheezed. “I’ll do it.”

Days later, Jason returned to the Blackstone Pack’s council of elders. Though he stood

behind the towering glass walls of the

conference room, the power felt emptier than

ever.

His new secretary lingered outside, never daring to meet his eyes. Her polite smile quivered every time he issued an order.

It didn’t take long for the staff to remember why

Bella could withstand his chaos when others

couldn’t.

Alpha Jason’s demands were relentless, his fury

unpredictable.

He tore up files, berated employees until they fled in tears. Each time the door slammed shut behind them, he recalled how Bella effortlessly quelled his turmoil.

Marble floors, sleek desks, whispers along the

corridors-none of it could fill the void of her

absence.

That night, Jason returned home to find the living room in disarray, toys scattered everywhere, Robert chasing his own shadow, giggling, oblivious to the fragility of his world.

Bianca lay sprawled on the couch, her hair. greasy, an empty cup in her hand.

She didn’t even look up when Jason entered.

“Take care of your son,” he barked.

Bianca laughed coldly, her gaze vacant.

“Your son.”

Robert ran past them, knocking over a small

table and shattering a vase.

The sound made Jason’s head throb.

He grabbed Robert’s arm and pushed him

towards Bianca.

“Handle him!” he roared.

Tears filled Robert’s eyes, his tiny shoulders trembling. “Daddy-”

Bianca stood, her voice brittle. “You’re scaring him. Look at yourself-you’re a mess.”

But Alpha Jason couldn’t see his son anymore.

He only saw his rights, his money, and the empty seat at every table where Bella should

have been.

“This is all your fault,” he said, his face burning` with rage. “All of this. The shouting, the chaos, the broken promises.”

He took a step back, his eyes flaming. “I’ve had

enough.”

Bianca’s eyes widened. “What?”

Jason’s voice turned eerily calm, his decision cold as the guillotine.

“My grandfather gave me a choice. Blackstone Pack’s power… or you.”

Bianca staggered, clutching his shirt as though it were her lifeline. “No, Alpha Jason, please- we’re your family-”

“You are nothing.” He shoved her away, and she fell heavily onto the couch.

Robert howled, his small fists pounding against his father’s legs.

Jason remained unmoved.

He dragged them both by their wrists to the

front door and flung it open.

Bitter night air sliced through the marble hallway, sharp and unforgiving.

“Alpha Jason! Please! He’s your son, your heir

-!” Bianca cried, clutching Robert tightly, his

small face buried in her skirt.

But Jason’s look was icy, cold as death. “He is

my mistake. You are my mistake.”

“Where will we go?” she sobbed, every word fractured, “Please-I can be better. I will-”

He pushed them past the threshold, the door

gaping like a ravenous mouth, ready to swallow them whole.

“Go wherever. Just leave my territory; I don’t

care.”

Then he slammed the door shut.

Bianca’s screams and Robert’s cries echoed in

the cold marble hallway.

Jason leaned against the door, his fist pressed against the wood, his pulse pounding like war drums in the empty castle he had finally conquered, only to find desolation.
