The Castro family dragged Lawrence back to the mansion in New York.
His parents had security guards watching him 24/7, forbidding him from leaving the property and especially from returning to Los Angeles.
For days, family members took turns trying to talk sense into him.
“Kristin is already married to Asher. It’s over. You need to let it go. If you keep this up, you’ll just piss off the Thorne family. It’s not worth it.”
But Lawrence couldn’t hear a word. He remained silent.
His only request was for Corey to bring the Jewelry Box to the mansion immediately.
Every piece inside was something he’d personally selected for me.
Lawrence felt like a boulder had settled on his chest, making it hard to breathe.
Back then, everyone knew how much he adored me, how much I meant to him.
But he’d lost himself in the temptations of wealth and status in just a few years, forgetting his original feelings.
A yellowed card tucked in the corner of the box caught his attention.
He pulled it out, finding it vaguely familiar yet unable to place it. Until he saw his personal seal on the back.
The realization hit him like a punch to the gut. He froze, unable to move for several moments.
He finally remembered this blank wish card was a thank–you gift he’d given me when he was barely a teenager.
He had promised that I could exchange it for anything within his could give.
But the adult Lawrence had completely forgotten this childhood promise.
He finally realized that all these years, the only woman he truly loved was still Kristin Bennett.
Lawrence’s chest heaved as emotions crashed through him, desperately seeking release.
He grabbed his phone and tried calling me again. But still unreachable.
Lawrence collapsed into his chair, the strength draining out of him.
He couldn’t help thinking to himself:
Of course. She was married now. Someone like Asher Thorne was ruthless and possessive. He’d never allow Kristin to contact
Lawrence.
Kristin must have married Asher in a moment of anger.

Now she was probably regretting it.
Asher Thorne was unpredictable and violent no way he’d treat her well.
There was still hope. If he could find me and sincerely apologize, humble himself…
Kristin would forgive him and come back to him.
