Chapter 16
After the wedding, I was exhausted and curled up against Asher’s chest.
He tucked a loose strand of hair behind my car. “Take a break if you’re tired.”
I shook my head. “I’m fine.”
“Good.” His finger traced my lips suggestively. “Because there’s still one important thing we haven’t done yet.”
My cheeks burned.
Despite how close we’d gotten lately, we hadn’t crossed that final line.
But I couldn’t help but glance down, my eyes darting to his legs. Would his leg issue affect… other areas?
I thought my look had been subtle, but Asher caught it immediately.
He raised an eyebrow. “What were you just thinking, Kristin?”
His warm breath fanned over my face, and I quickly looked away. “Nothing! Nothing at all.”
“Really?” He leaned in closer, his voice a husky whisper.
When our lips met, I wrapped my arms around him and lost myself in the kiss.
That night, Asher made it very clear – his legs had no effect on his other physical abilities.
In fact, he gave me an experience like nothing I’d ever known.
In my dazed state, I sensed something wasn’t quite right, but couldn’t place what felt off.
“Oh God… I can’t take anymore…”
“Alright, one last time,” he promised.
True to his word, after the final round, he kissed me and whispered goodnight in my ear.
Too exhausted to even open my eyes, I fell into a deep sleep.
