Chapter 23
After seeing the evidence, Ariana knew no explanation would work.
She tried using tears to gain sympathy, but the men had become immune to her crying.
No matter how many crocodile tears she shed, they couldn’t hide her malice.
“Ariana, you enjoy getting these little injuries to win our sympathy, don’t you? Now you’ll experience
them endlessly.”
“Enjoy. We’re just satisfying your fetish.”
“You like living in mansions? You can spend the rest of your life in this one.”
Ariana’s heart pounded. For the first time, she truly felt fear. She should never have crossed them.
“Please let me go! I swear, I’ll disappear. You’ll never see me again! I was wrong…”
Her face was a mess of tears and snot. At this point, she couldn’t care less how she looked while
crying.
Yes, she liked mansions, but she could imagine the hell her life would become in this one.
The three men left without caring whether her remorse was genuine or another manipulation.
It didn’t matter. She would never leave this house again.
The three men flew back to New York.
They didn’t dare approach Rebecca again–they’d hurt her deeply.
But as soon as they arrived home, they were hit with devastating news.
Their families stripped them of their inheritance and kicked them out. Then they were dumped in a psychiatric facility.
Their accommodations were even worse than Ariana’s.

After completely losing Rebecca, their families had abandoned them and chosen new heirs to groom.
Unable to bear this total loss, they coughed blood and fell into comas.
In their unconscious state, all three seemed to experience the same dream–watching Rebecca’s previous life from a third–person perspective.
Two months later, they awakened like hollow shells of themselves.
Their plans to seek family forgiveness evaporated. They aged a decade overnight.
Young men with completely white hair.
After a year in the facility, on a quiet afternoon, they wrote an apology letter to Rebecca. Then they
hanged themselves with bedsheets in the bathroom.
By the time an attendant found them, rigor mortis had set in.
The apology letter never reached Rebecca–an illiterate janitor threw it away as trash.
When Rebecca heard the news of their death, they had already been buried.
Since their last meeting, she had never seen them again and erased them from her life completely.
Rebecca interrupted the conversation on the other end of the line.
“Mommy, I miss you so much.”
On the other end, her mother’s attention immediately shifted to her daughter. She discussed with Rebecca’s father about quickly wrapping up business matters so they could visit her in Los Angeles.
After setting a date and hanging up, Rebecca exhaled deeply.
‘Hey, babe! Come try this new dish I made!” Chris’s voice echoed from the kitchen.
Rebecca’s smile widened. “Coming!”
she rushed to the kitchen where Chris was waiting, proudly displaying his latest culinary creation.
Their marriage had been everything she’d hoped for – passionate, supportive, and filled with moments of genuine happiness.

After experiencing the pain of being a replacement in her previous marriages, Rebecca had finally found someone who truly cherished her.
“What do you think?” Chris asked, gesturing at the elaborate breakfast spread.
“It looks amazing.” She reached up to kiss him, feeling the familiar warmth of his embrace.
The first few months of their marriage passed in blissful harmony.
Chris was attentive, passionate, and seemed to adore her completely. Their home in Los Angeles became a sanctuary away from the painful memories of New York. Rebecca couldn’t believe how different this marriage felt from her previous ones.
But then, without warning, everything changed.
It started with small things – Chris coming home later, his smiles becoming less frequent, the
passionate nights dwindling until they stopped altogether.
Something had shifted, but Rebecca couldn’t pinpoint what had triggered the change.
e night, she finally confronted him after he skipped dinner with her for the third time that week.
Chris, what’s going on? You’ve been distant for weeks now.”
He looked at her with cold eyes she’d never seen before, a stranger wearing her husband’s face.
“You actually have the nerve to ask me that question?” His voice was harsh, filled with anger and betrayal. “You thought I wouldn’t find out?”
Rebecca stood frozen, genuinely confused. “Find out what? I don’t understand.”
“You dared to manipulate me. All of this-” he gestured around their home, “-was just another calculation for you, wasn’t it? I was a fool to believe otherwise.”
“Chris, please, whatever you think I’ve done-”
“Save it,” he cut her off sharply. “I don’t want to hear any more lies.”
With that, he walked out, leaving Rebecca standing alone in their silent home, the echo of his footsteps fading down the hallway.
After that night, Chris spent most of his time away from home. When he did return, he barely

acknowledged her presence. Their conversations, once flowing and intimate, became reduced to cold and impersonal exchanges about household matters.
The sudden shift bewildered Rebecca. She’d been nothing but honest with him since they’d met. Unlike her previous marriages, this one had grown into something real and meaningful–at least for her.
Whatever Chris believed she’d done, he refused to discuss it further, shutting down any attempt at conversation.
